What Did You Do This Morning

Rain and thunderstorms predicted
sun brightly shining.
Did not sleep well last night
but the lettuce seeds, cilantro,
parsley and dill
are calling me to put
them in the ground.

I pick up my 50 year old hoe
that "no one" is allowed to use
but me.  This hoe and I share
many memories...

Cilantro and parsley in their
pot from last year.
Dill sprinkled on the ground
and a few lettuce plants are
in the small square foot garden
along with onion sets and mixed
lettuce seeds.  The Egyptian onions
have returned from experiment
last Spring.

So pleased my hollyhock that seeds
originally came from daughter when
she lived in Massachusetts - like
their new home in the country.

Finished and looked up saw a
beautiful Red Bird watching me.

Almost lunch time - I am finished
for the day.....

You've tired me out!! After the chicken house work, my morning was wasted, trying to get some things straightened out with prescription drug plan. What a mess!! And no fault of my own either! Thankful for Popa who talks to them on the phone for I wouldn't know where to begin.

I have brought Holly Hock seeds from The Farm to this location, three different times. They apparently don't like it here and will not even come up and make one small leaf. I will try again though--always keep trying.

Love your last picture of the beautiful cardinal. Remember when you are tired in the afternoons that you are a master gardener and you do more than most of us by noon!

I'm late on finding this earthy post. Gorgeous photos and revealing words.

You are a nurturer of the earth.

Thank you.
