A October Morning

Nothing taste quite like turnip greens that you plant, pick and cook - yourself.

More Basil for the freezer. I can smell the spaghetti sauce simmering.

This herb is in a mixed pot. At the moment I do not remember what it is. Pot also contained purple sage, rosemary and dill. Pot was a end of season sale purchase. There is a slight breeze and image came out kind of blurry. Does anyone know what it is. I thought I was told tarragon. Do not think that is what it is. I IDENTIFIED THE MYSTERY HERB - IT IS THYME

I remember when this car was new. When they replaced it - they put it in the woods.

When I drive down my country road and see it sitting in the woods - for some reason it makes me smile.
Another beautiful sunny day. I planted some special multiplying onions. Will share about them at a later date. If they survive I will never have to buy onions again :)

That car has been sitting like that for over 20 years. The cookie sound good. Tomorrow I am making pumpkin bread and I will add cranberriers to it. They are finally in the store.

You are accomplishing so much!! I would be tempted to paint some abstract designs on that car. I did manage to make a peach/apple/strawberry pie from leftover fruit the other day and it is delicious,...if I do say so myself.

Tabor, I think like you about the car. I will never get rid of my 9 year old Ford pickup. But guess it will outlast me and I will not be able to place it in the woods :)
I may have put too much basil in the ice trays. Just stuffed it in there and covered with water. I love the smell of it. Surprised at how much this little garden has supplied me. In reality - just enough for One Woman meals. My small turnip green patch is great.
Your pie sounds delicious.

I love the old car.....would never think to have such art in my yard! What is your basil frozen in? Olive oil?

Let us know how the turnip greens are...

Beverly the basil is frozen in water in an old fashion ice cube tray. I will put the cubes in a plastic bag and can add a cube whenever I want to use basil.
Tabor, told me this is what she does:)
Laura, thank you. My turnip greens were good tonight. Have a good night.

Love the basil ice cubes idea. Must try that. Also think the photo of the car in the trees looks like an art work. Probably that is not necessarily how you see it, but from afar it does.

Lilalia - agree about the car.
Would love to have it here in my woods :) I think it looks like artwork.
