The view did not disappoint her. From every window there was a beautiful white carpet of snow.
Jacket, scarf, bomber hat, gloves, boots, and she and Miss Callie were out the door to the garage. She began filling her bucket with bird seed, suet cakes, checked to make sure cell phone was in her pocket, and camera around her neck.

The snow drifts - in places were about 12 to 18 inches high. Callie loves the snow!!
She swept the screen porch, steps and where you enter garage. Also used her 40 plus year old snow shovel (that had not been used in years). She is weary - guess she had forgotten how walking through heavy snow and sweeping can tire this aging One Woman.
It enters her mind that her day has not even started!!
It has been a number of years since this area had a nice snow like what she is viewing.
Breakfast, downloaded her pictures, wrote a few lines and now onto other chores.
She moved to the woods to simplify and have less to do - it has not happened as of yet.

Such a peaceful scene. Was your snow crunchy? We have a deep layer of ice on top of our snow. I love your industry and work ethic. I have been out to do some quilting, but my heart says be the observer and just kick back and enjoy. I made the Chile and cornbread yesterday so all is cozy and well here in our little corner of the world. May your day be filled with little delights for you and Callie.
Barbra, yes it is peaceful looking out the window. No ice but I know if snow melts some and then freezes again I will have crunchy top. I always wake up full of speed. It has stopped........
Cannot seem to get into my reading this winter. When I sit down I just want to have a still mind.
Callie is surely company for me.
Have a good day and stay warm.
We have so many blessings.
I sent to snow your way. I see you got it....My snow is crunchy...as I walked for the paper it sounded like branches cracking like our ice storm of '94. I am still sick, no voice, and missed work today....Stay warm.
It looks beautiful where you are. I would like to get out and shovel snow and clean off the car, but I can't, because I might undo what the chiropractor is doing for me since the accident. I have to wait for nature to melt it!
Beverly get well. Judy I do things I should not!!! I can hardly move. Tried to drive truck out to mailbox and it is stuck in the snow.
I can only imagine how my woods look as I am here at my daughters. They had predicted little if any snow for our area and we have from 4 o 12 inches depending on the area! Busy with grandchildren so not may pictures.
I am jealous of your woods. Our house is perfect for us, but we have wished we could move it further from town.
Your comment about 12-to-18-inch snow "drifts" gave us a smile here in New Jersey.
Also, how to you keep Callie away from the suet? All our dogs have loved it!
the landscape appears to be serene, so peaceful in its white coverlet. hope you will post more photos soon. i was happy to read you always check for your cell phone in your pocket! smart woman. hope you won't over do it. gotta make the energy last as long as possible, and a body without too much pain is certainly a blessing to enjoy!
my pups always ran circles in the snow and loved very second as they kicked it up behind them as they ran. i changed their sweaters to keep them warm and dry and sent them right back out when they stood at the door crying to go play. they each went through 5-6 sweaters daily on those days. FUN!
Tabor, enjoy those little ones.
H@W - Drifts are beautiful - but my little truck is stuck in the snow. The suet is up high on the tree in a container.
Sky, the cell phone always in my pocket when I leave the house.
Overdoing it seems to be my problem
I love your snow description - a white coverlet..
All - take care and stay warm!!
