My Sarah

One of her granddaughters called last night to share that she was having her first dinner party. TONIGHT ....... A vegetarian and very disciplined and grandma could not persuade her to try any of the special dishes she had prepared during the holidays. She did eat vegetables and fruit. When asked if she would just take a taste - a smile and a shake of the head.

She attends school in the cold Northeast. She will be preparing a vegetarian dinner for eight along with a strawberry desert.

The phone call warmed grandma's heart and she can hardly wait to hear about the evening.

She is a music major and has been playing the French Horn for years. She practices daily for hours... it is her constant companion. Her dream is to be part of a symphony. If that opening appears I feel in my heart it will happen.

Good luck on your dinner - grandma is thinking you, and knows it will be a success!!!

Seems like yesterday...... that you were the age of the two little ones.

I wish her success with the dinner party! and with the French horn.

One of my grandsons plays the trombone. His mother took him to see a Star Wars concert last year and they had a live orchestra playing while the movies were on screen. She asked him if he would ever like to play for a group like that and he answered..."AWESOME!" She told him it just took practice!

We are expecting a warm up too. It'll be a pleasure. We feel like shut-ins :)
My daughter and one son are vegetarians and she has been for years. Really a healthier diet. I have always fixed meals for them without meat. It's not hard to make something delicious.

I can feel your love embracing her as she prepares for this dinner and for life.
