I used Sharon's recipe last night.
Small portion for one and there will be enough for today.
A very small squash
a little less then half the onion and sausage.
No bread crumbs on hand and I toasted
two slices of bread, dried and crumbled.
Very tasty and gave me an idea
for an extra dish on the big table
for Thanksgiving.
I am going to look for very small squash,
Bake and fill them with a mixture of rice, mushrooms,
onion and sausage.
Sharon, thank you

You're welcome, Ernestine. I'm so glad you enjoyed this dish.
Lovely center piece, fall gifts brought inside, to bring further joy.
When I read yesterdays post, I was wishing to be there with you, for dinner and a ramble through your woods.
I am planning to try this recipe. Often I make my own bread crumbs, if you have bread, you have breadcrumbs.
Wishing you a splendid day!
BTW, I changed back to the old blog template, so many were saying how difficult it was to make comments.
I love squash...any squash, but my favorite is Acorn. I used a Buttercup squash the other day and think I like it better. I'm going to try the recipe...Balisha
Sharon, thanks for the ideas, Sandy would welcome the company, everything in entries looks so nice - but really quite simple here. Balisha, Fall seems to make me think of squash - but then like the crookneck in the summer :)
Great recipe! Thanks for the link too.
More uses for sage??? I keep a large bottle filled with fresh leaves that I cover completely with red wine or burgundy. It steeps in that for months and then when bronchitis or coughing hits we sip it by teaspoons (just a couple) to stop the cough reflex. It works.
Love to you,
Sharon

thanks for sharing the recipe and to sharon for posting it.
