New Old Bike

About 8 years ago a friend was going to throw away an old bike, I asked for it and leaned it
against a tree in front of the woods.   Now it is falling apart and I have been looking for another old bike.

My son looked while he was visiting and even old bikes pricey.

Two days ago the girl who helps me some evenings, watering flowers, filling bird feeders, etc
pulled in and in her truck, she said do you want this old bike.
I asked how much and where did you get it and she replied it was in a ditch for trash pick up
so it is free :)

It looks like new to me, I love it.

my old bike
and the new old bike

lucky me :)

Most creative. I wonder if you ever thought of decorating it in some way or re-painting it?

Ernestine, close your eyes for a moment and let's pretend:
We are back from a ride on the bicycles and lean them against trees. Then we take a walk through your beautiful woods. Birds sing, and some scold us as we walk too close to their nests, butterflies flit back and forth among the wildflowers. I can't resist picking a small bouquet as we turn to go back. You invite me inside for a cup of tea but I must hurry back to the farm, grateful for time spent with a dear friend.

That bike looks in great shape!
It makes me feel sad that you can't have Callie there with you.
you've improved so much, I don't think she'd trip you.
