The Mind

Have you ever tried to be
very still and not listen
to your mind ?

It will go on and on
and it is difficult to shut off.

Mindfulness is the only way
to still the mind
and begin to hear the
heart speaking.

The mind took me on a
serious trip this past weekend
with the should I and should not.

With the is this the right time,
the wise thing to do.
I was thrown into
serious turmoil

I prayed and mindfulness
was difficult.

It seemed no one was available
then one who never lets me
down was there.

I am so thankful
my center has returned

I do best here at my cottage,
garden and woods.
I am so thankful that in these
last years I can live simply and
peacefully.

My trips to town
are necessary and
I find I am thrown into
another world
and almost
off balance....

Solution
fewer trips...

The image is a flower that was shared with me last year.   Forgetting where I placed it in the garden - I kept looking and almost thought this spiky plant that emerged was a weed.
Look at the glorious blooms that are emerging.

Beautiful! Your words, process and the flower!
Whenever I feel that rushed feeling begin to pound in my chest and head, I know it is time to stop. Often I do not listen, and it turns to a physical pain or sadness. Your sharing this day remind me where I need to be. Thank you always!

Mindfulness is such a difficult task to obtain. Our minds often take on a life of their own. Your words today were an inspiration.

Thank you for your words, they are very thoghtful and thought provoking. I also have those plants-I was told that they are named "Obedience", but my sister-in-law prefers to call them Dis-obedience" because they spread so much!
I have to agree, I have pulled out and transplanted many.
Happy beautiful day to you Ernestine.

Sally, thank you so much. I wondered the name of this plant.
Now I know :)

I have tried and tried to be quiet and let my mind not be "full". I am going to confess... I have never been able to achieve this - YET. I will keep trying,
great post.
Have a pretty day!

What a beautiful flower...I love the color!

In this day and age it is tough to keep our minds still. I have started listening to more classical music and Christian radio in the car (since I spend so much time in the car lately...ha!) It really does help. We also try to limit TV time but I know you are diligent about that!

Love you.

Mindfulness came to me in these later years. The study into Buddhism a peace unto itself.

Love the new header. You are always changing up, how fun.

Blessings.
