I Think Of This

Often think of sleeping on my screen porch.
The night sounds would be wonderful
might just try it.
Noticing a lot of small lizzards coming through
the porch floor which is like a deck.
Wonder, would they bite me ?
Also, hopefully Miss Callie would not bark
through the night at the creatures in the woods.

I think the lizards would leave you alone and your canine friend might have a hard time keeping quiet with all the outdoor critters. :-)

It would be lovely to sleep in a screened porch, in a quiet atmosphere.

Have a lovely day ~ FlowerLady

Have you seen the porch swings that look like beds? I need to send you a picture of one!

Those lizards focus on ants and bugs...so they are a good thing. Make sure you keep the lights off if you sleep on the porch because that will bring in all sorts of bugs that bang against the screens and windows. If your dog is a peaceful dog he will probably sleep beside you just fine.

FlowerLady, Tabor and My Jamie,
thanks for commenting.
Really cool out there this morning.
But makes me smile at this new thought. May do it sometime.
Need to put a small table with lamp on the porch :)

Inspired by a warm summery nightlast night, LM and I were talking about sleeping on a screened in porch. We both have nice memories of this as a child, and we really love the sounds of the night. I am staying at my boss's house this week and it is so silent there, except for the sound of the ocean. Love it.
I think you should try it, as I am sure your woods are a magic place.

When I lived on the farm, I often slept out in the hammock or even rolled up on a blanket on the lawn. I loved waking occasionally and seeing how the moon and stars had moved around the sky overhead.

Many wonderful memories of my Grandmother's second floor sleeping porch. So lovely to fall asleep in the trees.

Your words took me a travelin' back to my childhood. Aunt Martha Jane had a summer porch with three beds, soft and welcoming. Sunshine sheets and flat pillows. Those were glory night of feeling one with the woodlands and the universe.

Though I did not know how big was my pleasure, I knew I felt loved and at peace. Slept so good, awakened to the fine aroma of southern breakfast cooking.

Good thoughts and I love the photo.

One day I may borrow your thought...and write a few words about Summer Porch Mystery Nights....or something like.

Love your header, great share. Take care of you.

I don't think lizards with bother you.

We had a screened porch (sleeping porch) at our lakehouse when I was young. I would love to have one, now. I don't think the lizards will bite you. Hope all is fine in your world. Hope Jamie is much better now after her fall. That was pretty scary to read about.
