Rainy Sunday

It has rained up until 30 minutes ago
Time spent  in my old leather chair
Read and relaxed
body and mind needed this
Could take it no longer
Umbrella and clippers in hand
muddy clogs
Cleaned and filled wheel barrow
several times
 loved being out in the
soft summer rain
Every time a new garden is created
I over plant
never knowing what will grow
it seems a good idea
Everything planted is thriving
a lot in this garden will have to
come out
Just cannot take care of a
flower and vegetable garden
any larger then what is here
at present
Clumps of most flowers were
brought from the city garden
the prize white day lily
was not over looked
There are several that did not
bloom this time
Maybe next year
it will be a gift
A good day
Relaxed, read, gardened,
muddy, cabbage and cornbread,
fruit tea and my favorite orange cookies
Today was a good day
 a smile on my face
guess the smile is there most of the time
Tomorrow I have my little girls
hopefully the sun will shine....

Fun post...I can picture you umbrella and clippers in had, and muddy clogs. Go girl.

Pretty speckled day lily.

Happy to here there is a smile on your face most of the time. Me too.

Sometimes gardening in the rain is much more fun than gardening in the hot sun!

As with your lily, I had a couple of iris that didn't bloom this year. I wonder why that is?

Sandra, yes my tiger lily.
Sharon, as busy as you are I am always honored when you comment :)
Tabor, it was a light rain and weeds pulled up in a second..
Judy, hopefully it will eventually show - this year or next.

If you are cleaning out and want to pass anything my way...I'd love to have something special from YOUR garden in MINE!

Amy, when I thin plants out - you are welcome to them. Come and visit :) Jamie said you came once when I was not home - and I am usually always home....
Barbara, thank you for visiting.
This tiger lily is beautiful....

There is a special quiet when there is a soft rain and I think it's a good time to garden, too. Your overplanting has given you such a beautiful flower garden in a short time ~ more fun than waiting for everything to fill in, which is what I'm doing.

Your day sounds peaceful and you sound content.
