Last Evening Of August

Beautiful sunset.

Turnip greens planted 10 days ago and one lone cantaloupe continuing to ripen.

The first of this year's
leave's lets go and drifts,
no breeze to bear it.
With lazy grace the leaf
unwinds it's growing
season in a dancing
downward spiral, lands
in silence, making of
itself a perfect offering
to the altar of the earth

I love the your words as you tell your journal of your days in the country....I look forward to them everyday!

Beverly, thank you for your uplifting thoughts. You were one of the first to respond to me when I started writing almost 2 1/2 years ago. Maybe when you fully retire - you can visit me:) I still am not feeling very good. Ache all over - I know that I did not break anything. Guess I am just bruised inside

Drink lots of fluids. That will help with the healing. Your melon looks delightful. It will make a couple of good breakfasts. It is funny how being older makes us appreciate such little yet magnificent things.

That is the most beautiful poem and I will remember it in my yoga practice and meditation.
Your pictures denoting the end of August are beautiful. Can you believe Sept is here??? So fast, but one of the most beautiful Cape Cod summers in memory.
Now we await the hurricane and what it will do. We're prepared as well as we can be....not evacuating unless it is dire.
Hope you feel better soon. That was certainly a nasty fall and aftermath.

Darlene and Marcia - thank you for visiting.
Tabor, lots of fluids and I thought only me would smile at her last cantaloupe and greens emerging.
Darlene and Tabor - you were also first to comment a couple of years ago. Time going by so quickly.

The poem describes the first signs of fall here in Maine, too.

Deep breathing also helps healing.

May you be well ~

Sharon, thank you so very much.
Deep breathing is always there.
But when anxiety arrives - it seems you almost forget.
Have a perfect day!!
