The above picture is what I am trying to post on my header.
Several hollyhocks were moved from the city and this is the only one that survived.

I like your header. I am viewing it in Internet Explorer 8. Could that make a difference?

sayysmom - I am not familar with Internet Explorer 8. Do you see just a part of a huge flower???
I find that I have to resize my images (keeping the scale/aspect ratio the same) to either 1250 pixels by 487 or 6.9 inches by 2.7 inches. These measurement do not have to be exact. It is difficult to do this in Microsoft Paint (included on most Windows PCs), but if you do some judicious cropping first it can be done.
I just sent you a rather tightly cropped version. See if that works.
E,
I have exactly the same problem, thus, I have not had a header photo for almost a year. I've changed the photo size and tried everything I could to no avail. Very frustrating. The only thing I haven't done is write to Blogger and ask for help....probably should have done that but....
Anyway, please keep us informed of your progress! Gorgeous hollyhock...they remind me of my grandmother and my sister in Canada. She's always had beauties in her garden.
Yes, I see part of a flower but I really like what I am seeing. I thought you meant to do it that way. I love the blurriness next to the flower.

what a gorgeous photo! resizing your photos is all you need to do to make them fit your header better. you can do that with a variety of tools - don't know what you have on your computer, but your daughter will know and can help you with that. cropping them first will bring the image closer. after you crop you can resize. after you see how it is done you won't have any more problems. i like that you change out the headers...it is always a fun surprise to arrive and find a new one.
Marcia, Sallysmom and Sky - thanks for checking in. Have a great weekend :)
