January Ends With Beautiful Sunset and Pending Sign

She captured this magnificent sunset on her camera...last night..

A lot has happened over the last year. The footing was poured on her country home about a year ago. 7 months of building - not a day was missed. Making the trip from the city to the country, many days a week. Dreaming of spending her last years, on her rural wooded acreage, gardening, writing, and her camera in hand.

In the beginning she planned a simpler cottage, but after much thought it turned into a small home for her and family to enjoy.

All went well. Her mind and some of her children would echo "is this wise"? She just followed her heart. All she really knows - is she has a deep peace on this land.

Six months ago - she started spending nights in the country. Moving gradually and final move of furnishings before the holidays.

An emotional week with being snowed in (still snowed in) another reduction in price on city home, and a prospective buyer (one of the dealing kind - One Woman usually makes quick decisions).

She accepted a price and is moving on with her life. She could go through Spring and Summer with a hope of a higher price. Expenses continue and that is a gamble she is not going to take.

Long story of why she moved to the city - a lot has been shared on my journal. Being closer to family, investment strategy, recession, a deep desire to return to her country property, building, and this selling experience - which is nothing like she has experienced in the past.

There will be inspections this week and a closing February 19th. So this is in her favor.

If all goes forward - she knows in her heart it is not what she desired - but she will accept and continue on day by day.

Bottom line - She has a Thankful Heart for All.........

All that have followed a portion of her journey and encouraged her - are very special to her.

Will see how the week turns out.

Stunning photo and I am sure that sunset made for a lovely end to the day. You are still settling in I can tell, but some homes take a long time before you and they are one.

Beautiful sunset. Having settled into several homes, I am sure you will find your contentment in this new home too. Glad the city house may be sold soon - sometimes it is not what we want (price wise), but just taking the load off your mind is worth the freeing up of your time, energy and thoughts and will help with the settling. Thinking of you this week and often.

Love the photos on the past posts and this one. Glad you hear you have an offer on your property. I am sure that will ease your mind. It is best to sell it now. I live in a subdivision and the kids run through my yard all the time with bikes, dogs, etc. I am like you. I would never go on someone else's property. I am thinking of getting motion cameras on the roof of my house this summer. That might be an idea for you, too.

Beautiful photo! Congratulations on the house sale. You've been patient! I saw that you were getting snow and wondered how you would fare. It is so pretty. We escaped the storm because we had such a major cold front over us! Hope the drive is open soon for you and the picture of Callie is so cute. Reminds me of a goat on a woodpile.

Well, you certainly are filling this end of your life with new and different experiences. The sale of your house taking a different turn than those of the past. You have a new companion who not only slipped into your heart but has found ways into you home, Miss Callie has a way with her sweet nature doesn't she? It will be interesting to see what other new ways of being and doing pop into view. Enjoy the process.

Marcia, thank you for your comment.
Cloudhands, you describe so beautifully all that is going on in my life. Truly thought the 70's might not be so busy. But it is leveling off and I am looking forward to Spring and quieter times. Beverly, may your health be restored quickly.
Mermaid - if I have gained any knowledge in my last years - it is to follow the heart. Thank you for putting a smile on my face.
and Dear Sky - thank you for the smile is still there - all have a great day and Beverly again - HEALING WISHES ARE SENT YOUR WAY!!
