Do I head for the country or wait until tomorrow? A number of errands I wanted to take care of and really do not want to stay home.
One daughter on the way to Memphis for business. Another daughter flying in from Tampa for graduation festivities. My son's construction business at a halt. So this One Woman is a little unsettled with all that is going on and thought leaving her home for a few hours would help.
Standing on my screen porch and looking out at my small garden in the sprinkling rain - it looks calm and serene. I probably should take the "relax" sign to heart.
One Woman thoughts this early morning

Where is this picture taken? Sounds like a nice day to relax.
Balisha this picture is taken from my screen porch on my home. Looking out at my garden and garage. I always put a small porch on the side of my garage.
A lot of people think it is a guest cottage when they look out into my yard. A number of people have copied my idea.
I think today is a day for a nice cup of tea and catching up on a good mystery or biographical novel! Maybe you could bake something for the pending company?
I await your decision, did you go or did you stay? I'm partial to Tabor's recommendation of tea and a good book, that would always be my first choice. Not that I can always follow through. I love that you put a porch on the garage. You are a practical woman.
Well, I headed down the road.
Good thing I did. The paint in several rooms did not look like the sample. So I spent time at the paint store. Never had this problem before. The sage green for my bedroom - looked gold - ugh.
Thanks for thinking of me.
Ernestine, you have certainly made a beautiful garden in a small space. It reminds me of an English garden. I can't imagine what you will do with all the space of a country yard. I'll bet it will look like Eden.
How is the house sale coming along?
Darlene, thank you. I just keep thanking my buyer for being on the way. It may take them a while to get here. This is the only way I know to think. But I know in my heart it will happen when it is suppose to happen.
Ernestine
Thanks for sharing this picture.
You have great taste.. love the porch on the garage with rocker and swing. The paths, flower beds, statuary all lovely.
Now I can't wait to see pictures as you develop your new garden(s)?!!!
Maybe the rain was asking you to stay put for a while? It's tough though, when you want to be moving, isn't it?
Mim, thank you. Everything is so old. Been carted from one home too another. Most things have a story. The collar hanging around St. Francis neck is my Sadie's collar. Her ashes are under that tree. She will go with me when I leave the city.
Mermaid, thanks for checking in with me. You - take care of yourself.
I hope you are feeling more restful now after sorting out the paint.
Your garden is so beautiful. I know you will soon have another in your new home. I used to have a screened porch when I lived on the farm and I loved it.
Judy and Sara Lu, thank you for checking in with me. Judy - I love a screen porch. When weather permits I could live outside.
yes, always take the relax sign to heart. otherwise life is going to be shorter than it could be. we make our own anxiety by telling ourselves stories. sometimes we scare ourselves badly. we can always choose to tell ourselves a different story. it is all within our reach. this is a bigggg challenge i am working on in my own life. hard work, but so necessary.
Sky, again thank you for your advice. It is a blessing to me this early morning.
What a lovely view to enjoy while making decisions. You've done an amazing job in that garden. I'm eager to see the next.
The porched garage looks charming to me.
