living on a farm
children were young and one a baby
I wore boots, riding boots and cowboy boots.
In the past years
I see the stylish ones with boots on
and have yearned for a pair.
The young woman who stayed at my son's home in the city
when I lived across the street from him 4 years ago
arrived at the airport from the Netherlands's wearing these boots. That is all she
brought to the states. Rode her bike to Vanderbilt University
daily, wore them with jeans and dresses.
I thought she looked so great and wanted some of these boots
4 years ago...
The right opportunity surfaced over the weekend.
My youngest arrived with boots on.
Contacted the big city store where they were sold
and listen to this
they were on sale and also offering an additional 20% President's Day sale.
Ordered with no additional postage and told I had 2 weeks to return
if I was not pleased. They are a pricey item and with the big discount
they are affordable - a gift to myself....
One who is now leaning towards simplicity will be super stylish
in this small town.
Have a narrow foot, am difficult to please and usually wear Merrel's
because they last for years and feel good.
Wearing them here in the cottage to see if they grow more comfortable
and will decide tomorrow about keeping them.
This is a big decision
for this mom
otherwise known as grandma....

Love them!
Sallysmom, my daughter's and granddaughter's wear these boots :)
maybe now this one - will see...
I have some cowboy boots and one set of riding boots (don't ride but they were a gift). My only issue has been getting them off. It can be a struggle...so I hope you do not have the same.
I am so happy you bought them! I bet those boots are gonna be good for your soul.
They rock! You'll be the coolest Grandma in town! My youngest daughter lives in her cowboy boots and others called, of all things, Muck boots!
from what I can see, you look very stylish! In fact, I would love them myself!!! you may not be able to wear them for long periods, but, when you want to have a special time, wear them!!!
Lookin' good and stylin'! We need to treat ourselves sometimes :-).
Enjoy them and the complements you receive.
I enlarged the photo to get a good look. I like them:) You're right to make sure they are comfortable. If shoes/boots don't feel good I don't wear them no matter how good they look.
Tabor, these have a zipper in the back.
Mel, Molly, Beverly, Pienosole, Beverly and Sharon - thanks to all the comments on my "big decision"
Will decide today. They are comfortable and can wear from about October through March.
great story, ernestine. good for you! I hope that they will break in comfortably, and serve you well for many many years.
Look at you girl!! Love them.

I'm afraid my boots aren't very stylish; Muck boots are a must for my farm work.
Remember the song, "These boots are made for walking..."
I love them and they look great. I have a similar pair that I ear with mid-calf length skirts in the Spring and Fall. Congratulations!
What a fun post! I wear almost nothing but boots, probably have a dozen pair. And, they seem to last forever. I have a favorite pair of western style, but I usually wear hiking boots and my beloved Mucks! Good luck in making the right decision!
Nancy, Balisha, Charlotte, Marcia and Mary, thanks for commenting.
Love these boots and had several comments on them today when I went to the big city :)
