Worn Arms

My helper arrived the day before Thanksgiving
apologizing as he coughed.
He is sick...
Told him to go back home
replied he needed the money
told him I would pay him anyway.
He stayed a short time
and once again the leaves were blown
from around the cottage and fire pit area.

The old rocking chair with the finish worn
off of arms was brought downstairs.
from guest bedroom.
Put it in front of windows where the sun streams
in during the winter.  I can sit, rock and dream.

The rocking chair 50 years old and all of
my babies were rocked in it until they were
to big to sit in my lap.

Old friend so pleased to have you near
kept thinking of this but did not want to
block the glass door and I have enjoyed
the open space.

Now time my old rocking chair
to enjoy you - once again

I love the old rockers--they seem to be worn to our position perfectly. Enjot. Sweet Callie, she loves the sun's warmth too.

Rockers are such special chairs.Mine sits near the window too, I just moved it, so we can put the tree there. I will miss it through the Christmas season, when it is in the bedroom...
How are you feeling, my friend? I read your comment at Judy's post just minutes ago...I hope that you are getting along OK. I just told Joe the other morning..."Wouldn't it be nice to be able to get up one morning and not hurt?"
Have a wonderful day..spend some time in that rocker.
I'm especially thankful for your online friendship this year.

Judy and Balisha, thank you for visiting. I love a rocking chair and have another old one on the loft that sits in front of a big window. Just do not take time to really enjoy them...

What a lovely rocker that has been rocked through the years, through good times and bad, loving your babies, watching them grow, growing yourself, comforting you and anyone who rests in it.

Hugs to you dear Ernestine.

Soon the days will lengthen and you will have the perfect spot to watch the gathering light. Callie likes it too:)

A cold but sunny day. Sitting in this rocker can enjoy the sun.

Such wonderful memories can be made with rockers. I can just see a little hyper grandson, finally settling down for a nap in my rocker. Still use it although now and then the back has to be put back into place.

So very nice of you to pay your helper even though he couldn't work. Blessings on you, One Woman.

You are a kind dear soul. Helper of mankind.

The rocker seems happy to be where the sun shine.

What a sweet scene! Sometimes it is so wonderful to sit in a chair and look out the window. Years ago I had a house with a large picture window. In the back yard was a large oak tree. I used to love to lie on the couch and watch the rain stream down that oak tree!
