Wild snapdragons
add a little color the last week of August.
Country road scene and
finally mastered cornbread for one using 1/4 of recipe, dropped by tablespoon full in iron skillet.
One returned from Colorado, one a special chef assignment in Hampton's and is still looking
for an apartment.
Some calls make you smile, others you thought would contact you
they never did.
56 years ago today you were a bride.
Today you are a matriarch who lives in the woods and thankful for a new day.
Nothing remains the same, everything changes and ultimately does anything really matter?
A beautiful day is beginning
Some plants have started blooming again.

I never knew there existed wild snapdragons. Beautiful!
A wonderful post to read first thing in the morning. I've never seen wild snaps before either. Those "corn cakes" must taste something like corn meal mush fried?

your "wild snapdragons" have a zillion different names which surprised me. i know it as "butter and eggs," but i looked it up as soon as i saw your photo and found some interesting information about it. often found along roadsides growing in poor soil it is considered a weed by many and is considered invasive in several states and provinces. one of my employees grew it in her garden in GA which was my first introduction. it lasts for a long time in vases - she brought it to work quite often mixed with other flowers from her garden.
our clematis has begun blooming again. i love them so am always happy with the extra gifts.
yummy cornbread!
Judy, thanks for visiting.
Balisha, they taste like corn bread
Sky, the snapdragons look lovely by the base of this old tree. If they are a weed they are beautiful.
Lovely photos. I worry about your granddaughter finding a place to live. These young people have to find their own way I suppose. I have a grandson who just picked up and moved to CO, found a good job, and seems content; too much for this grannie.
Charlotte, so much going on my famili - too much for this one also...
They looked like snaps to me too ~ it’s nice to see them volunteer at the base of a tree. Happy weekend.
Great summary on the passage of time. Regardless of how we feel about it, it will move on and we will change.
Lynn, thank you.
Tabor, wise words...
Colorful blooms...what a great start for any day! Wish I could kick off each day with the energy you seem to have.
Oh, Mary
my post is deceiving
I am dragging
and praying for sleep tonight.
I seemed to have forgotten
that my grandchildren have
parents and I take on more then I should....
Just checking in to see if you're ok.
Have a good day.
Balisha
Balisha, a lot unsettled and will post soon :)
It all matters. That was my first thought. How we care about others, the good thoughts we put out Into the world, our words, and our actions - it all matters. You have a good heart, Ernestine.
Lovely photos. So difficult when miles separate us from those for whom we care and care about us. How much can we protect them? How much must we allow them to find their own way, sometimes making mistakes from which they'll, hopefully, learn along the way -- as we did, or we wouldn't still be here.
Sharon and joared - thanking you
for your online friendship...
