Almost September

Watching you daily
a seed that grew
 beside the deck
almost 9 foot high
and protected from wind.
Finally blooming
and you are not a disappointment.

Year and a half ago
you were a 8 inch plant
and placed by the screen porch
In a short time you had almost covered the screens.

Moved in the Spring to your new home
at the edge of the woods.
Today
the thought surfaced
You like it....

~~Rather than taking obstacles as problems or as unfortunate distractions,
a more useful attitude is to patiently and contentedly learn
the skills and insights that can transform them
into stepping stones along our path~~

Mary, thank you. I have been afraid the wind would blow it over.
It is so tall. An hour ago saw the butterfly on it and wondered if I could get a shot - I did :)

Sunflowers are joy in a petaled bowl, aren't they? So glad yours is near the porch where you can see it sunny face easily each day. Your yard work is very rewarding I see. I am so happy you are in such a good place at the end of this hot summer.
