Some Resting and Many Just Sleep

Yesterday it was almost 70 degrees
and felt so good to have my hands in the dirt.
Pulled out some Winter weeds and even
transferred pieces of another plant.
Lavender in a pot looks healthy and green
Walked a short way into the woods
hoping to see something of beauty
to take an image of.

I see nothing
just leaves, bare trees and limbs
laying everywhere.
It is  like everything is sleeping.

When in the woods the thought
continually comes to mind
"what if these old scarred trees could talk."

Some objects I could not throw away
they sit about and guess resting.
The trees and different wild flowers sleeping and
I smile and wonder, why One Woman do you take an image
of yourself in an old mirror she placed
in the woods?

A small bowl of greens and turnips were picked
for evening meal.  They continue to provide and these may be the last.

Monday morning predicted in the 20's
so it was so good to be outside,
feel the sun on my face
and even had lunch on the deck.

A magnificent sunset
ended another day
for One
who lives at the edge
of the woods....

So glad you had a good day outside. Love you statues, and the photo of you. The last of your veggies look good and the sunset is lovely.

Love and hugs to you ~ FlowerLady

All these odds and ends we save are seen a junk by some, but for many reasons we hold them close for all the memories of our life that they provide. This weekend will be in the high 60's for us. I mourn not having a real winter, but will be outside and working.

good morning! very cold here but only for a few days and then we will move back to our moderate marine climate. the glorious thing for today is a forecast of azure BLUE SKIES! we have so few in winter.

old statues propped up here and there give a bit of mystery to the gardens. i rather enjoy garden walks where i encounter an interesting surprise.

hope you have a fun day in your little paradise. sending love.

Peaceful -- I'm back inside for a while, from early morning feeding before it rains. Then it's out to the chicken houses, after a snack. So glad you took us on your walk.

Lavender is one of my favorites but it doesn't do well for me. I too enjoy digging in the dirt; also love the smell of good old dirt. A healthy evening meal for you...no turnips for me. Your special little touches along your garden paths are delightful.
