almost dark
the wind was blowing
It was bitter cold
But look at the sky.
Breathtaking....
I receive "Tricycle Daily Dharma" each morning.
An excerpt from one of Jack Kornfield's books "there are two kinds of suffering - the suffering you run away from and follows you everywhere and the suffering you face and truly find liberation."
A busy day ahead and it is too early in the morning for me to give this statement the thought it deserves and to also read several pages about some of the author's books.
Most of us have felt uncomfortable being compassionate with ourselves and dealing with our own hearts with love - and that is where it all begins.

Thanks for my daily thought!!
Yes Ernestine. Just like the December Sky, it feels like there will always be darkness. Those that look up to watch sunrises and sunsets know the colors of the heart and the possibility of love in any given moment.
Tabor and Mermaid, as always thank you for visiting and your special words...
Love the new header, white candles are my favorite, books are great friends.
Suffering is with us, it is comforting to know, to face is better than running.
Thank you, for sharing.
Sandy, thank you for visiting - you are always welcome...
I have left this photo up on my monitor so I can enjoy it. Beautiful.
Thank you for the Mary Oliver poem earlier this week. Age is only in our heads.
What a beautiful picture....each season has such wonder. I particularly love the starkness of the trees "bones" lit by the sunset/sunrise.
Love the quote about suffering, too. Felt that way this week as I made my way through a cold and came out the other side with a lot accomplished, and some soothing rest for my soul.
Thanks for sharing this. So many run away from emotional pain instead of staring it in the face, doing the work required to understand it, then moving through it to the other side. Funny thing is that as long as people try to escape it, it will indeed hunt them down.
Hope you have been feeling better and that you have a great weekend.
Sharon and Marsha, thanks for visiting. The sun is shining :)
