Small Vegetable Garden

She is amazed at all this small garden is producing A 12 x 12 sqaure and herbs planted among the flowers. If a day is missed picking - then the compost pile grows. There are even things that have rooted in compost pile and will be interesting to see what it reaps.

This garden was planted for one, and with the thought there might be something to share with visitors.

She feels guilty adding to the compost pile. Has thoughts of the many that would make a meal of these items.

Wherever you are on the planet - warm thoughts are sent your way.

The vegetables look amazing. You've sewn the seeds of love over the years. Now the harvest is ripe with abundance.

Dear Mermaid, thank you. This little garden (an experiment) has surely reaped beyond my expectations. Now it would be great if some other areas would reap likewise:)

Commenting here after a long time; but I have been lurking and reading...:-).....Your garden veggies inspired this :

Moist fragrant earth,
touched by dew
and
driven by
the summer rain;
The seeds,
strewn amidst the flowers,
compete;
The quietly emerging
veggies,
nudging each other across
tangled branches,
some
weighing themselves down
waitng to be plucked...

They
may not be
as
artistic
or
pretty,
as her flowers
that adorn
the family table;
But there is
the beauty
of affection,
all mixed into
casserole,
and they preen
in pride,
as
the little granddaughter
lifts the lid
and says ,
"Grandma, Umm,
smells good !"
