First Fall at Woodhaven

First Fall at Woodhaven and she forgot about the leaves. An area surrounding her cottage has been somewhat cleared. Gutters were cleaned last week. She thinks all the leaves are on the ground. Will be interesting to see where they blow during the months until Spring. She is constantly looking out the window at her bird feeders waiting for more of an assortment of birds to visit.

There is one lone rose blooming and a few others flowers that will not give into winter approaching.

A cloudy and misty rain day and she is preparing for Thanksgiving. A full table and she is so pleased that the big table is still in her home. How could she had ever thought of parting with it.
Her son requested a banana pudding be added to desert table. In years past they were made often.

Turkey is thawing in the refrigerator and she smiles as the radio is blasting Christmas music.
It started a week ago and seems that they started earlier then ever. She likes to be past Thanksgiving until she thinks of Christmas. Many of the songs are about snow and it is 50 degreees when she walks outside.

Day light is so short and somewhere around December 21st the days will start - little by little becoming longer - good.
Thoughts of thankfulness and the blessings of her life - flood her heart, mind and soul.
Wherever you are this One Woman wishes you a great Thanksgiving week.
May you be happy, well, safe and at peace.

Your Thanksgiving sounds so rich and rewarding. Just as you deserve! Dec 21 (which oddly enough is my birthday) is the shortest day of the year. I always consider my arrival the reason that spring begins its journey!

Tabor, thank you for the warm comment. What a happy thought that with your arrival - spring begins its journey. I have turned my heat up today. Seems chilly and damp to me.

I think I heard a deep sigh of contentment in your writing today. I hope you have many birds at your feeders this winter. We have always enjoyed the pleasure of standing at the window with bird book in hand zeroing in on a new visitor to the yard.
Banana pudding is an all time favorite in our family, in fact it is always featured at hubby's birthday dinner. I'd say your son and Flutemaker share that enjoyment.

Cloudhands, you are right on target. My peace has been restored. "Thank you Lord".
I love looking out the window over my kitchen sink and watching the bird feeders. I am waiting for some really special birds to appear.
Yes, banana pudding a favorite over the years and I have not made it in a while. My special son will have his request fulfilled.

Sounds like you will be cooking. I know the country home will be warm and inviting. Take care and enjoy the day. We have a station on radio that is playing Christmas songs but, I refuse to listen until after Thanksgiving....

You have beautiful splashes of color near your house in contrast to all the brown leaves in your yard. We, too, have a blanket of leaves, especially oak, on our property but need some color for contrast. Happy Thanksgiving to you.

Beverly, yes I will be cooking.
Thanksgiving in the country for the family just seems right. Sharon, thank you for checking in.
Both of you have a good Thanksgiving.

It sounds like you are going to have a Norman Rockwell Thanksgiving surrounded by your family. You are so lucky to have most of them nearby.

Enjoy the day and a wonderful day of thanks to you.
