November Sunset

A beautiful sunset to finish a busy day.

She headed for the big city this morning. A helper riding in the truck beside her.

They tackled the city garden. Guess the compost pile must be almost 6 foot high. It sure must be good soil or One Woman has a "green hand". It was nice to have help as this amount of work could not be done by a lone woman.

A few things were packed from the kitchen, a bird feeder taken out of the ground and some plants separated and brought back to country garden.

She wanted to do some more in the house but the energy ran out.

So they headed back down the highway to the country.
Lunch at the Cracker Barrel on the way home.

Arriving home the vehicle was unpacked, bird feeder put in ground and the few plants had a new home.

After taking my help home - a hot bath sure felt good.

Just saw this sunset and think the image is pretty good.

This has been a beautiful fall day in the life of One Woman. She is happy, contented and very tired.

Some other week happenings - My youngest granddaughter spent the night and told me I was the "bestest grandma in the whole world". How could that not warm her heart.

My next little granddaughter lost another tooth. No upper teeth!!! She cannot smile big enough. Seems I remember that I would put my hand over my mouth - not pleased at being toothless. She seems to think it is grand and is proud. My how times have changed.

Callie has turned out to be the best. Does not climb on porch furniture anymore. Obeys when I call her. Follows me everywhere. She is just good!!! I think she likes me!! Only does not like me to leave this property and secure her by doghouse. She will have a pen sometime in the future.
Will be used only when I am gone a few hours.

it is so nice to have such a productive day! so glad to hear you are able to preserve even more of the city garden...spring there will be such a joy.

also glad to hear callie will have a pen soon. must be hard for her to be tied (do i recall correctly that she had been tied in her previous life and that had caused her skin damage? if so, it must be horrid to her to have anything restraining her in that way. harnesses are easier on dogs than collars.) so glad you 2 are compatible and enjoy each other. hope you will post more pics of her soon.

that sunset is stunning - fabulous shot!

Busy day, but I can tell from your writing you feel so fulfilled. Keep thinking we should get a dog, but we are still a little to rootless.

Sky, thanks for checking in. I agree about the collar and Callie.
But have no choice at the moment and I am home most of the time. Aisling and Tabor, I always smile when I see your coments.
Tabor, I like the fact that Callie is very protective of me in such a short time. She knows this is home. I am different from so many people that I do not want to have a dog inside. I am beginning to let her in to sit on rug by the door. She does not move and never takes her eyes off of me. My children let their dogs have the run of the house. Not "One Woman" they think mama is too fussy. Just me!!!

I love that beautiful sunset photo!

I am already daydreaming of a day when our dogs that rule our house are 5 pound toy dogs. I can no longer handle the mess and upkeep of our big Jack but he is a sweetheart and we love him. ;)

Glad Callie has found a good home with you.

Lovely sunset! Our skies have been full of electricity these few days - unusual for this area...my friends say it is making their pets crazy. It is sweet to watch your developing relationship with Callie..as you grow to love and trust one another.

My Jamie, mom could not stand the "cleanup" up two inside dogs.
Lonely Rivers - I bragged on Callie and then today she discovered the neighbors - oh my.
They have a duck on the pond and horses. Callie please do not roam.

Mermaid, thank you for visiting me.
We have walked similar and different paths. I only know you from your sharing, but I am proud of you.

Your sunset is beautiful and it sounds like you are getting a lot done. I wonder if you are flying yet? How is the new product doing for you? I am glad Callie is working out for you. My daughter just lost her dog Friday night. It was an Australian Shepherd. The vet could not figure out what happened. He said the dog was bleeding internally and no signs of anything!

Judy, same thing with my Sadie who passed away a year ago. No - not flying yet - maybe too soon.
Hopefully I can soon relax in my retirement home. Has not happened yet. Take care. Love your new header.
