When my children were visiting this weekend - my daughter who has a nursing degree - commented "mama, Callie has a hernia".
So first thing this morning I took her to the vet and it was confirmed. She looked so sad when I left her.
This truly saddened me. I feel as though I am mistreating her. I do not think she has had much love in her 11 months.
Just called and she is doing fine and I will pick her up later this afternoon.
Some stitches broke loose from her being neutered - So they say. Only they know what happened?
Good news there will be no charge.
Callie I hope you heal quickly like you did from the procedure one week ago.
When I lost Sadie a year ago I vowed I would never love another little dog like I did her.
Guess it is happening all over again.

You are not mistreating Callie. You are being a kind and loving mistress by seeing that she gets the medical attention that she needs. Callie is as lucky to have you are for her as you are having her in your life.
That last sentence should have read "to have you as you are as you are having her -----" I think I failed to delete and edit and messed it up.
Well it happened again. I know I didn't add those two extra words this time. My evil elf is at it again.
Darlene, thank you. I just hated for her to go through this procedure again. I know she will be fine.
Callie knows that you love her. She has found a good home with you. Give her a hug for me.

Don't be silly. You did the right thing. And it is impossible to live with them and not love them.
So sorry for you and Callie. May she recover quickly and be back in place as your sweet companion.
Hi Ernestine, I hope Callie feels better soon. She is a very lucky dog to have you to take care of her. I am sure she loves you very much already. Your fire looks so inviting below with the chair sitting there next to it. I love the photo of you and your family out to eat together. It is raining cats and dogs here today. I am not ready for winter!
Balisha, kenju, Marcia and Judy - thanks for the comments.
Callie is doing great.
I love my fire pit. Will enjoy "if the rain ever stops".
I am not ready for winter either.
Isn't that the way - I love all my dogs none more than another, just differently. There seems to be plenty of love in one's heart for dogs, just as for one's children. :<)
Nan, thank you. Callie, healing great. I am trying to train her.
Never had an inside dog and she is chewing and not happy on porch.
So brought her in since it is so cold. We will both have to adjust!!
