Really trying to push food, weight just not increasing or just 2 lbs.
I love breakfast, so as I begin always wirh a cup of warm water , egg cooked perfectly, slice of bacon and seems bakery I love in Nashville has closed, son picks up loaf of bread that Whole Foods told him
similar to Tuscany bread (my favorite) and not so, disappointed when toasted hard as a rock,
so I had a slice of my Blueberry Bread and one morning a week make coffee. All was good
but I am up and down looking out opened door and windows watching turkeys and one parading with his
beautiful tail feathers open and then finally a shot, not good but gives you an idea.
Being physically challenged at this time, do not like but accepting I cannot run onto porch
and down the stairs with camera in hand, now have to make sure phone is in my pocket, cane in hand. Yesterday I realized
even more as I wanted to take an image of a new flower, stepping carefully on to dirt, had no cane
as I quickly went outside, I had nothing to hold onto as I turned and when back on terrace I
thanked God I did not fall.
So a new day begins after an all day rain yesterday. Bed time early as son in Nashville and need to go
over a lot on my desk.
Yesterday read Peter Taylor's best seller years back "A Summons to Memphis." made me smile
for many reasons. Also recommended to daughter who went to school in Memphis and a lot of
places in Nashville mentioned. My son brought this down from his library of many books, saying I might like it, and I did. Liked it enough to order "The Old Forest and Other Stories" another book by this author, I always order these
books used on Amazon as such a good price.
My son browses often in used book stores as he travels and I was surprised that there are many
in Bangkok.
Enough shared, I love to write and now am back to another love of reading, but gardening that is
another story but ever thankful when creating around this cottage almost 10 years ago much was
planted and even now a friend occasionally shares a plant. All plants do well except Roses
which I love.
Planning meal for today, just do not like food brought to me from restaurants, like my food
and now can cook once again. So thinking stir fry with spinach, carrots, squash, celery, mushrooms ,
rice and shrimp and crab. Tasty for my son when he returns.
Also when we went to market yesterday purchased fresh salmon and lean ground beef for cabbage
rolls, spaghetti or meatloaf, even a hamburger as like my own with cheese, lettuce and tomato,
also the lean, low sodium bacon that I have not had for a while.
Others for weeks have done my grocery shopping with my list and sometimes wrong item
so love now being able to do this, with cart in hand "I can fly." Son pulls up to door, goes inside
for cart for me and then I am fine on my own....
See how fussy I am..........

What a beautiful breakfast - YOUR way!
And those turkeys are quite a sight. You were blessed to see them and to be able to photograph them to share with us.
Rebecca, always - your comments please me.
Your wooden cross is on my night stand :)
Love this post. Love all that you shared. :)
Maybe you can order the bread from a local bakery? Lots of foods are being delivered now. I think you should look into a walker with a basket that can hold the camera and binoculars and all you have to worry about is moving the walker. That turkey photo is terrific. What a strutter he is. Ours keep getting eaten by hawks and eagles, I guess.
Tabor, I have a walkwe with basket, holds everything. Getting a second one to keep in garage
as transporting down stairs is difficult. Sometimes use nothing and sometimes just cane.
Also, this bread so special, no one else has it but this bakery in Nashville :(
WOW!! You sound so great in this post! It has done you good to have your son for a nice visit. I walk a lot better with hardly any pain with the grocery cart to lean on.
I can tell...you are getting stronger everyday!

Most envious of that beautiful breakfast and your blueberry bread. I must empathize about the Whole Foods bread. I am very disappointed in their breads. I do not eat it often but love it to be exceptional when I do. There is a very easy no knead bread that you rise and bake in a dutch oven. It is so easy and has a nice crust and flavor. The recipe is everywhere on line but if you cannot find, let me know.
We have a pair of turkeys who stroll through our gardens and grounds every morning. It causes a major stir with the cats. Pretty funny.
So excited for you being able to go shopping again. You are wonderfully inspirational.

What a lovely positive post. Love reading how you are revitalized and doing your own shopping and cooking.

Loved seeing your photo of the turkey with his tail all spread like that.
You inspire me with your photos and descriptions of the food you prepare for yourself.
I'm so happy you are home and able to prepare your healthy and delicious food again.
I'm having knee replacement surgery in the near future, so my husband will be preparing our food for a while after that. That's going to be interesting. I usually lose my appetite when I have any serious medical issues going on. Since I am overweight, the loss of appetite doesn't feel so dangerous for me, but I also have a very hard time making myself drink water, or fluids of any kind. Kind of like a dog or cat when they get sick. It is strange, and is a problem for me. Hopefully that won't happen after this surgery.
SUSIE, good luck with knee surgery. I need but not a canidate for because of pain
and age:) so just keep moving and exercising.
