When You Are Snowed In

Home bound
early morning
16 bean soup
with an addition of onion, carrots, celery and chopped ham.
is simmering in the over 50 year old 2 1/2 quart crock pot.
It was replaced with a larger one through the years that was given away
and another small one so upscale looking but I took this one off the shelf
yesterday - my favorite
Warmer weather and rain arriving this weekend
the pantry needs to be restocked....

Checked to see if ingredients are on hand,
they are - so may make my favorite
bran muffins
later in the day...

Such a pretty crock-pot. I wish I had enough space for one on my limited kitchen work surface - but after the kettle and the small blender there is no more space!

Looks like you are taking good advantage of a snowed-in-day. We've had many this year. What a winter this has been!

50 years old? Really?
Bean soup and bran muffins! Sounds VERY good - especially on this bitterly cold day.

Rebecca, purchased this when children were toddlers - yes, old like this one :)
Sandra, my downscaled cottage of 1200 sq ft does not have the space as in past homes. Wish I had designed kitchen different with open shelves.
Pienosole, I seem to be settled
and then think of what if - current or water problem - so far fine...

A perfect choice meal for this frigid weather you are having!

Blessings. Stay warm.

Those beans are really beautiful...and of course, healthy.

A walk down memory lane - I remember my old Rival of the same size! Mine worked perfectly, too, and then I gave it away when I got a larger one. I like the larger size since I like to freeze for future meals. I didn't realize you parked your truck out in the open. Guess you will be carrying some snow around until it warms up! Stay warm and safe.

Thank you for checking in :)
At the moment feel like I am the only one on the planet - cannot
even see my drive :)

Perfect food for the weather, Ernestine. It is "snowed-in" time here, too. Being still in knee replacement recovery mode, I cannot go out, either, but it is fine. I crave fresh air but can open the door and get some lovely deep breaths. Ice everywhere. Hope yours melts out soon.
Falling is my main deterrant, as I know it is for you. Plants and little animals are warm under the snow and it will bring us a beautiful spring. Savor those wonderful treats. I really love the look of them all.

It really does all seem perfect for a cold winter day.
