One Of The Joys

Yes, one of the joys of this rural cottage
is watching the birds at my feeders.

So they are filled to the brim
and usually fill 1/2 full.

They know below zero weather is arriving
I do believe they are watching for me to restock their feeders
and if I did not they would peck at the windows.

The phone rings
and a voice "you are always filling your bird feeders - be careful and do not fall."

Rain has started and soon will turn to ice....
not anticipating
the rapid cold front approaching
and prediction
of zero and below for the next few days.

This type of weather
makes me uncomfortable
for lack of a better word...

I enjoyed this post! Always I love the birds. Gorgeous woodpecker!

Cant imagine the cold you are facing. You should be fine with ample heat, which I'm sure you have.

Hope you are feeling better.

Best to stay inside while there is ice on the ground outside. You have a lovely home to enjoy safe and cozy inside :-).

The very cold makes me uncomfortable--not in the sense of being cold, but I do like to worry about losing power. I HAVE to have something to worry about even while I am reassuring others that it is no big deal. I am such a fake, LOL

Judy, you are right. I am not afraid this just makes me hope a tree does not fall on this home.
The wind is blowing fiercly and I keep hearing banging. Hopefully it is the swing on the porch :)
Sandra and Pienosole, thanks for visiting...

Do not worry...birds can survive without the feeders if the weather is too treacherous. Stay inside, warm and safe!!

Tabor, one of my pleasures
just watching them at the feeder.
Tonight colder and then will warm up a little :) I realize it is nothing here like a lot of country is experiencing.

I love the pictures. I suffer in the cold anymore, as well. This evening I was working on a carpentry project, hit my cold hand on the floor when a nail came loose unexpectedly, and just stopped for a few minutes to cry! My aging bones and joints with arthritis definitely remind me of my vulnerability.
