Homebound So Nice and I Came Across The Way It Was

Another good day to stay inside.
Birds flocking to the feeders and must bundle up
and make another trip to refill.
White bean chili is simmering.
French coconut pie in the oven...

Very little holiday decorating except with Poinsettia's, my old berry tree
and my special very old Angel.

Recipe project, address book that scans over 50 years are on the big table
and will send a very few cards this year.

Going through items in storage room I came across this family picture.
It is a beautiful picture and
when compared to my journey over the last almost 40 years this was a short
time.
Now I can smile at this image and the way it was.
I view my children at a different age, one woman whose lifestyle has changed dramatically
for the best and someone who at this time is almost a total stranger.

On this cold
Saturday morning
with music playing, chili simmering, pie in the oven and many projects to keep me occupied
I have to say
"life is good."

Sounds good too.
Sounds cosy and contented and happily engaged in pleasant tasks.

Lovely.

That is a beautiful portrait! I loved reading your post today. The white bean chili sounds good. I am debating what to make tonight. Perhaps it will be a pizza night because one son has a friend coming over and that is usually what teen boys prefer over anything else.

Thank you for sharing your quiet moments. I find peace in reading about them.

Contentment is a blessing.

Your white chili and your pie sound delicious. Have you posted your pie recipe before? I'd like to have it.

Love and hugs to you dear Ernestine. You inspire me in this new journey of living alone.

How nice of you to share your cardinal's visit, inside your home pretties, and family photo.

Thank you!

These winter days, with no mowing, or weeding, or trimming, etc., are a welcome change, a time to rest and catch up on inside projects. This is such a nice post, especially enjoyed your family photo.

Glad you weathered the storm. We lost power for a day and a half.

Not every moment can I say, "Life is good," but there are more and more when I can. And I, too, am so grateful!
