Dawn I Caught You
Dawn this morning
I did it
captured
your image.....
~~What Is There Beyond Knowing~~
What is there beyond knowing that keeps calling to me?
I can't turn in any direction but it's there.
Time that is always rushing forward or standing still
in the same -- what shall I say moment.
What I know I could put into a pack.
Important and honorable, but so small.
While everything else continues, unexplained.
But mostly I just stand in the dark field,
in the middle of the world, breathing in and out.
Life so far doesn't have any other name
but breath and light, wind and rain.
If there's a temple, I haven't found it yet.
I simply go on drifting, in the heaven of the grass
and the weeds....
Words in part from ~~~Mary Oliver~~

Oh, this is magnificent!!! Are you feeling better?
Dear Cate, thank you. Sent you an email. Days are tolerable and nights horrible. Specialist in 2 weeks but do not want to take medication.
Beautiful delineation of 'Dawn.' The opening lines are fantastic. The sun 'trying' to rise behind the trees is unique. Well captured.
Beautiful moment it would have been...loved the lines!!
how beautiful... sorry you are feeling poorly.
What a great catch! Mary Oliver is always perfect. Her words always touch my soul.
Today I started alfalfa and nettles to help with the inflammation pain. They do caution that certain forms of alfalfa are not appropriate for some conditions. What a struggle, huh?
Wishing you peace and ease.
lovely morning image! sorry to learn you are having continued medical issues. i certainly understand the frustration and the effects of interrupted sleep. :( hope you find some relief. maybe there's an anti-inflammatory medication other than a steroid which will bring a little relief. i hope so. (one in particular has helped me in the past, but they are rough on the GI tract.) i think warmer weather will be good for all of us, too!
thanks to everyone for visiting.
Beautiful capture. I'm still coughing...going to Dr. tomorrow. If it isn't one thing it's another. I'll be so glad to have warm weather...I'll bet you will be too.
Balisha
Balisha, we must get well and stay well - Spring is arriving...
Beautiful post, both photos and poem...am thinking some time outside digging in the dirt will help us all.
Mary, you are so right :)
Gorgeous photos. This Mary Oliver poem is perfect for this time of year, transition, waiting for spring. I am reassured when I read her poetry posted here, connected, understood. Thinking of you on this Easter weekend. May your health improve as the weather warms and days lengthen ~
Sharon, Mary Oliver is such a favorite and her poems never fail to speak to my heart. As always thank you for visiting...
Oh, my, you have found another Mary Oliver poem, and this one positively glows! And, Ernestine, the photograph is fabulous. I am speechless.
