Sour Cream Chocolate Chip Cookies - seemed a good choice and all ingredients on hand
As an experiment I put in a cup of chopped fresh cranberries in last half of the batter
Thought they would look festive. They taste pretty good:)
1 and 1/2 cups of sugar
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup soft butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 beaten egg
2 and 1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
Mix first 5 ingredients and add dry ingredients
Fold in chocolate chips and nuts ------- and if you add cranberries (very tart and I sprinkled a little sugar on them.
350 degrees - drop on greased cookie sheet - 12- 14 minutes
watch and remove when bottom begins to brown
I use tsp for a medium cookie (made 4 dozen for me) - you can make a larger cookie
Cool on cookie sheet a few minutes and then place on wire rack to continue cooling.
Have used this recipe a number of time for 2 years and I may have posted this in the past
FORGIVE ME ----- I USED ONE 12 OUNCE BAG OF CHIPS AND CUP OF CHOPPED WALNUTS

The platter filled with fresh baked cookies is festive. They look good enough to eat, hah!
Love the added cranberries!
Thank you for sharing the recipe!
Those look so festive and yummy!

I have a half bag of cranberries...maybe I can use them that way.. Did you put them in sugar or just add raw and ungarnished?
WM, Balisha - thanks for visiting.
Tabor - I also had 1/2 bag left from Thanksgiving.
I chopped them and sprinkled a little sugar on them and it soaked in while mixing batter. I thought they might be a little tart. When I made pumpkin bread I just added the whole cranberries. This was an experiment. They look festive and taste good (to me). Was something to do on a cold day.
Tabor, I only put them in half the batter - in case I did not like how they tasted. They might be too sour for little ones :)
Oh my............. These sound wonderful, and I am off to the kitchen to make them now. Thank you so much for this recipe. Enjoy your day!
Your cookies look wonderful. This time I year it seems necessary to bake, even for a person like me who doesn't really enjoy cooking.
Your display looks so seasonal. A new career, Ernestine, in food presentation awaits you! I bet they taste simply scrumptious.
Your cookies look just wonderful. I will have to try this recipe. I have been baking, baking, baking as well. I am dreading the fact we have an ice storm coming tonight. Winter seems to have arrived too early this year!
Cate, First50, Judy and Elsa Louise and Judy, thank you for your kind comments. Elsa Louise - you make me smile.
