Woods Fairy

Her son gave her a puzzle. Hopefully it will help her sit still. This is one of her problems. She seems to be always busy doing something. She has wanted a simple puzzle, not with 1000 pieces. This one has 500 and hopefully she is bright enough to put it together.

She will have help at the end of the week as her little granddaughter's are a whiz at puzzles!!

Wonder if there are any Woods Fairies in her woods?

The special holiday has left her very tired. The planning, cooking, cottage full of family, excitement and now getting things back in order, seems to be taking her longer then in the past. Guess that is part of the aging.

Her special son arrived safely in a far away land. These trips make her happy for him but make her sad. Missing him - she must remember - "you give your children roots and wings". She has to remember that is his second home.

The roots and wings gift is so true. They must be allowed to fly and all we can do is pretend that we can forget the big hole they leave in our hearts every time they come for a visit and then leave. It is the way of life and it has to be.

Since I will have no company between now and New Years I am beginning the process of cleaning up decorations a room at a time.

I am done cleaning inside. I am not expecting anyone - except 2 little girls who will be my New Years Eve companions. Next week outside wreaths will come down. Have a mountain of desk work to tackle next week and need to try and leave the computer alone Sometimes wish my children did not read my entries. Hey, maybe they do not.
Just do not want to send tears in this comment. Yes, the big hole is in my heart.

Blessings to you and happy times with the puzzle and grand daughters. What sweeter way to see the new year in than with the future right there with you in the form of two little girls.

That puzzle is symbolic of the woods fairy spirit in you. It must be hard to live in an aging body and accept it as best you can. You offer so much wisdom for the rest of us who will inevitably age and feel the limitations of our own bodies.

May you continue to share your stories and warm your own spirit with them like you do ours.

I love the puzzle...I have grown fond of fairies thanks to my Lily. I know you miss your son when he goes to his second home, sending prayers for his safe return to you in a few months for a few months.

I am relieved the holiday is over, New Year's to go. Max and I will welcome the New year this year....

It's a lovely puzzle and I wish I could solve it. My cats have other ideas about puzzles, and the pieces all end up on the floor.

life is filled with that concept of ebb and flow - it keeps us alternately fulfilled and hungry, always eager for the next sighting!

do you ever consider a visit to that foreign land yourself? sounds like a potentially fabulous adventure awaiting you!

I hope you have lots of Woods Fairies watching over you in your woods. Sounds like a wonderful Christmas as was mine at the farm. The girls and I cooked and cooked some more. My grandson is spending the night tonight. I am looking forward to that, too. We are all very blessed.

A smile on my face at all welcome comments this early morning.
Cloudhands, Beverly, Judy and Judy - thank you. Sky - no travel plans. I dream of it and it might be good for me - but I just want to stay home and plan my gardens.
Oh, would love to go to one of the islands and listen to the ocean and eat fresh seafood.
Mermaid, your comments always a blessing. My mind keeps saying - how in the world can you have grown children and grandchildren - where has life gone - I have so many things I want to do - I have so many blessings that is the bottom line.
Blessings to each of you. The days are beginning to be lighter, a New Year - A New Beginning!!!

The puzzle is beautiful! I hope you enjoying piecing it together. I think working a puzzle, especially with so lovely an image, can be very meditative.

I also love the photo in your header right now. I do believe there could be wood fairies living there!

Aisling, thanks for visiting.
I will have to have a lot of patience to work this puzzle.
I do not sit still "easily".

May you find ease in your days now, Ernestine. I believe it does wipe us out more as we age when busyness arrives. I am resting up too and enjoying the opportunity to cacoon in because of a big snow. A puzzle sounds grand, and the one you have there is a beauty. I do bet there are plenty of wood fairies around your place...Be well!

Of course you're good enough to work on that puzzle! Never really had much patience with puzzles except if it's the World Map I'm completing, haha! Then there would actually be clues!

That was a really nice post, Miss. Hope you had a Merry Christmas! :)

Much Love,

Jan, thanks for checking in. No snow in my area. You are young and you will bounce back quickly.
HalfCrazy, thanks for comment on my puzzle. Time will tell if this mom and grandma can sit still long enough to put it together.
