Morning By The Woods

Sharing some images
just returned from trip to market
and this caught my eye.   So unusal, on sale for $3.99, could not resist, added to my orchids and
will later read the phamplet telling about this orchid called the "Lady Slipper."

I have never seen anything like this and when I was checking out the people in front of me
noticed and said they were going go buy one.

Noticed a spider on screen door early morning, and when light was right saw the beautiful web.
An image, wish it was better
He is not too pretty
but sure hate to knock him off of the screen after all of this work

Time for lunch...

He may be there because of a porch light that attracts bugs? Lovely orchid. Exotic and otherworldly. I have never been able to grow orchids and admire your skill.

I am nearly 100% sure I've seen these in the wild here. Beautiful. Also spiders are "she" - think Charlotte the famous one. I have a few pet spiders that catch all those pesky flies, good workers. I never ever kill them or destroy their beautiful webs.

Great picture of the web! Little spider sure knows how to build! Now and then I'll have a black jumping spider who roams the entire house, surprising me when he/she appears in another room.

Tabor, I lost my one and only Orchid 5 years ago when moving to this home.
It evidently did not like where it was. If an Orchid likes its location
it thrives. Evidently these plants sitting on the old chop block with some sun
like this area as they are thriving and I am so pleased.
Charlotte and WWW, rain coming in and it may wash this spider away along with its web.

Wow, you got a deal on that orchid! May it have a long and sweet life with you dear Ernestine. My orchids are outside and stay there all year, except if we happen to get down to freezing which is rare.

Have a lovely Sunday ~ FlowerLady

Lorraine, I am so pleased I purchased the "Lady Slipper" she is so unusual.
Hope she likes her new home.
Not much survives in these damp shady woods.

beautiful lady’s slipper. I too lie orchids but never manage to buy anything fancy. I have several white ones which flower every few months. Surely they must come to the end of their lifetime soon?

The orchid beautiful. I hope it flourishes in your home. That is an interesting spider. I always leave them be...They serve a good function on this earth.

There's a spot not too far from here where wild Lady SLippers flourish in June. Probably a different variety, however.
