Successful...

These 2 smaller stem pans were purchased
many years ago and have not used them for
20 years.

A normal size stem pan recipe
makes 2 smaller cakes.

Took out of oven, cooling and inverted
to continue cooling
was so pleased after so many years
all is fine.
Now soaking up
butter, sugar and rum sauce
cooling
and a sprinkling of powdered sugar
Maybe more powdered sugar
after totally cool.
Will place on a red plate
with doily underneath
and now
the question is
how do I wrap them
to deliver tomorrow ?

cut a paper towel roll a little taller than the cake and split it to make it thin enough to fit in the center hole if it is too wide. tape together and wrap the paper towel roll in foil. put in center hole. wrap cake in foil. the foil will not press against the top of cake. sometimes I have used toothpicks with small marshmallows on the ends to keep the foil away from the cake on top and sides.

I keep a big roll of cellophane to wrap things like this for giving. I just set the cake on two sheets of cellophane and pull it up and tie it with a red ribbon.
Sky's suggestion is a good one.
They look delicious.

The cakes look wonderful! How do you keep from cutting in to them now?
