A December Morning

Cold and light rain continues.

Polar Shift is playing on the Bose
A number of years since I played this relaxing music
purchased almost 40 years ago on a trip to Gatlinburg, Tn.
Checked Amazon to see if it is still available
so old - it is now used for a penny...

Inside the DVD
container
these words

"May this continent, the last
explored by humankind, be the
first one to be spared
by humankind."~~Jacques Yves Cousteau, 1973~~"

View from kitchen window
garden asleep under a blanket of leaves
Collard greens soaking
and ready to cook
must have something green to eat
and burned out on Kale and Broccoli.
Will top with chopped bacon and hard boiled egg.
Cooling
pumpkin bread
with cranberries, walnuts and raisins.

Trying to stay off of computer
 less.
It is so easy to become addicted
to something
which is not operating like it has in the past.

Once you begin
takes a while
but finally nice to be disciplined :)

Moderation in everything...except eating that really delicious looking bread. Must bake, but so busy.

Your carpet of leaves is so pretty! I usually don't rake leaves, but we have a pecan tree and their leaves are such that they don't blow away much. I need to rake them so the grass underneath isn't killed.

I'm trying to avoid the internet too; there are lots of other things I want to do.

I know all about the screen sucking, LOL.

I can't even touch the thing except to write and not hook up to the internet.

It's like a bottomless pit.

Love your breads :)

WWW and Charlotte, yes you understand what is going on with computer - so will be online less
but this is how my children communicate with me and I order all I can from Amazon.
Leaves, have to find someone with a high powered blower as mine is not very strong. Seems some yard help has disappeared :(
Wish you both were near...

Sometimes I think that I am on the computer too much, but then I realize that I get so much enjoyment out of writing my online journal and connecting to people I have learned to care about. Why shouldn't I enjoy myself at my age, I ask?
When we grow old our friendships may start to dwindle....and blogging sort of takes the place of missing old friends. We build up a network of friends who comment everyday and sometimes inspire us to read, eat healthier, share stories and poetry, bring back memories to share. Most of all....our children may read the post from afar and know that we are still interested in life...and can read about our daily lives.
There are two ways of thinking about this...being on the internet is an addiction or being on the internet is a tool to use to keep learning and sharing.
Just a few thoughts....Balisha

Balisha, yes, I love my computer
and living in a rural area it is used much. Just find that many days there is a lot to do and I go online and 1/2 day passes.
Just trying to be a little more balanced.

Thinking of you and hoping you are well. I so wish I could have a warm slice of pumpkin bread and a cup of tea with you. I could bring molasses cookies...
