They Are Amazing

I need to write
while I am still on a high.
As I winded down the country road
on my way home
I still felt saturated with  the love that was given me
a few hours ago.

A brunch this morning
by one who cares for her bed ridden husband round the clock.
A beautiful country home,
food was superb and every room decorated
like Southern Living Magazine.

One Woman was treated with so much love
that driving home
her eyes were filled with tears.

These ladies range from 83 to 92.
The twins and their older sisters
one came in from Jacksonville.
Then a special one who is 92
that  I began reaching out to years
ago in the local grocery store as
her husband was in a nursing home

Hope I make it to these ages
with as much energy, grace and goodness.

To me they are Angels
and to think
I am special to them
and included along with their family.....

Dear Ernestine ~ What a joy to be included in the arms of this lovely bunch of ladies.

Maybe I'll meet some ladies in the grocery store now that I'm alone. I did see one the other day and thought oh my, I wonder if she's a widow and how is she doing? She seemed spry and had a spark about her.

I'm glad you had such a lovely day that left you feeling high on your way back to your quiet place in the woods.

Lorraine, yes, they are truly amazing. I left this home feeling so loved and appreciated - plus a plate filled with food for a meal in about an hour :)

The love that you give to others returns to you.

I think older women are so fascinating. So many stories to tell and no one putting on airs. I love my women friends and yours are all so full of life....it seems. So happy that you had a "day out" with the ladies.

Your story gave me happy chills for I just put the finishing touches to a novel which features elderly sisters and their memories.

You are beloved of these wonderful women, you are such a loving asset to their home!!

So very very happy for you! You are smart to drink from the up of such loving friendship and then to savor the flavor.

Oh my--they all look wonderful and certainly not the age you mentioned. How wonderful to have such loving friends--what would we do without them to take us away from our (sometimes) recluse-like lives.

What a beautiful group of women, and how lovely you shared that special time.
I had a very impromptu invitation to share an evening with 4 lovely women, 3 poets/writers, and one very accomplished artist, on Friday eve, and I still tear up when I think of the words, love and inspiration gathered in that room. Such a gift.
Happy New Year, Ernestine.
