Icy Glaze

Early morning beauty
All the trees look like
they have been decorated.

Late afternoon and
everything looks the same
nothing melted.

Took a long time for ice
to melt on truck doors and windows
as I let it run to warm up.

Very careful as I went down
icy wood steps and drove out the long drive
to mailbox at noon.

Even with boots on
everything is so slippery....

You are going to think we're crazy...sometimes when it has been icy...Joe drives to the mailbox. Better than taking a chance on falling.
Be careful,
Balisha

Balisha, my car was perfect with it in the garage but wanted to get the ice off of truck and drove it for mail. In nice weather I like to walk - not now :)

Beautiful - looking from the inside out. Very wise not to walk when there's ice!

It can be very treacherous! I have a fear of falling and not be found for some time. Do be cautious!

I'm glad you took the truck.

What was that wonderful word gloaming? It’s now. Fresh red saucer sized zinnias with baby’s breath, candles lit and the sun going down. Wish so much you were here to share the magic. I want to share it with the whole world. Take care on the ice. See you in the morning.

Ice has two faces...beautiful to look at, but... Glad you are safe and didn't lose your electrical power. Your gardens must have been beautiful covered in ice.

Be cautious and careful with this OWJ, you don't HAVE to go out. I have to remind myself of this too.

Lovely photo.

Kind of looks like a fairy land, doesn't it. Dr. Zhivago-ish, with ice gleaming on everything. Only his was inside his house!! Very careful walking--you don't want to yell, "Help! I've fallen and I can't get up," because there might not be someone close by to hear you.

There is joy in winter as well as misery, after all.
