Morning, 36 Acres and Jack

40 degrees, misty rain
 kind of morning.
The kind of day beginning that it is so nice to be home.

Day begins on the mat and then on to
a simple breakfast of yogurt covered with blueberries, bananas, flax and sunflower seeds.
English muffins with peach preserves from the local orchard and green tea.
Incense burning
Late yesterday a book arrived.
A book that the pictures on every page
reminded me of my home place.

"36 Acres" by Tobin Fraley

It has made me even more aware of the beauty of these old woods that surround
what I call
Woodhaven.

Day continues
with ongoing projects
that seem to never end....

Special thoughts go out to my Jamie, Alan and little girls.  A sad morning with putting their
special dog "Jack" asleep.   Jack was rescued by Alan 15 years ago when he found him
injured in a ditch along the side of the road.  So much joy he brought them and now a sad time.

Aw, always sad to put a pet down.

You sure know how to breakfast well.

You never fail to inspire me - wonderful breakfast, lighted candles, interesting books... Woodhaven is fortunate to have you, and you to have Woodhaven.

This is such a sad time. Your photos are so beautiful.

By coincidence, I have a blog post going up tomorrow about our breakfast. :-)

Sandy, thank you for your kind words. I try to release much
from another life - sometimes successful and other times
a challenge. May I continue on these last years able to do what I am doing...

Ahh man....what a great looking dog.

Sometimes we get lucky with "rescue" dogs. They just "fit" our lives. We found a shepherd at(what used to be called the pound). Now the rescue center or something. With our young children he was gentle and fun. He and our dobie played and played for hours. Perfect fit for all. Happens rarely I think.

Perhaps I should get out of my eggs and bagel morning rut.
