Prayer Bracelet

I have always felt that I had a deep sense of intuition. Feeling led to once again share about my prayer bracelet. I clicked on Laura's site to see if it was still active - yes - and discovered that her current entry is about Jade beads .

Interesting, made me smile that my entry was meant to be .........

This is an entry that was written and posted about 15 months ago. Daily I wear this bracelet and sometimes it is noticed and I might receive a compliments on it. It is very simple but has a lot of special significance to the one who wears it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Arriving home from a belated birthday luncheon on Friday.... a gift to myself had arrived.
In my mailbox was a prayer bracelet that I special ordered. A mala I requested to be made in a
special way. If someone asks what it is, I will probably compare it to a beaded rosary.
This is something I am adding to my prayer life, mindfulness and the cross I have worn around my neck for over 40 years. As I am aware of it on my wrist may it help keep me focused.
Many who know me may not understand why I am adding this simple bracelet. It really does not matter whether they understand or not. It is something I am doing for myself.
It is made of Jade which is associated with abundance, healing, good health, peace and joy. It is said it can draw the earth's life force to one, especially if worn or carried while one is outdoors. It helps one to send peace and loving-kindness to all those in one's surroundings. (peace that promotes friendship, respect and peace between all faiths and people in our world). Physically, it helps to strengthen the energy system.
It has a coral center bead, which is said to bring power. Tibetan Buddhists have prized coral for mala-making for centuries.
Laura, thank you so very much.
Judy, thank you so very much. I wondered what some would think since I am a Christian. But I embrace all religions and there is so much I do not know. Some of the mala's looked so ornate and I like the simplicity of this one and the beads are small and it will blend with my watch and really not noticed that much - except I want to grow to be very aware of it on my wrist.
It is so cold. Had errands but doing housework.
I think this is a most wonderful gift to design and purchase for yourself. Wearing this will always remind you in quiet moments to reflect and help promote thought transference, what a lovely way to pray. Each bead can be a special person in your life and if used often you will know just by the feel and counting, who is getting your power of thought today. Having lived in the Middle East, Egypt Oman and the UAE, prayer beads are such very special items and are a souce of great solace to many. I do hope these very lovely prayer beads give you great comfort and much peace.
Susie, thank you so much for your comment and encouragement. Prayer beads are new to me and when I read about Laura's beads - I felt I should have a bracelet. Again, thank you
What a lovely token of mindfulness. I love the symbolism of the jade and the coral. How can you not become more aware as you use this gift of focus that you have given yourself.
What a perfect gift to give yourself! They symbolism of the colors and stones is just wonderful! Happy Birthday! It is so great to see that we can choose things from other practices without loosing our own center. I love the practice of stringing prayer beads, which becomes a meditation practice in itself. So many birthday blessings to you as you begin a new tradition with the mala.
Life Potential Network and Beverly.
Thank you for visiting.
Beverly, I pray your niece is still progressing. I love my prayer bracelet. I thought of putting a cross charm on it but since I wear a cross around my neck - did not want to appear - that I had gone off the deep end!!!
God comes to us in so many ways. Why not in the cross and the beads? The spirit is not confined by the boundaries we place on it. Thank goodness for that!
I love your blog entry today, it is indeed synchronistic that I posted about a jade mala today.
It just seems like such a great stone for Springtime and regrowth!
I'm so happy you love it.
And what Teri said is wonderful:
"God comes to us in so many ways. Why not in the cross and the beads? The spirit is not confined by the boundaries we place on it."
Have a great day, my friend.
