Summer Harvest Beginning

Oh my
this corn looks wonderful
3 dozen to prepare
and have already put 1/2 the watermelon in fridge.
Wish I had twice this
and another freezer/ fridge
in the garage.
I think
do not need this,
do not eat this much
but love Summer time abundance.
My knife needs to be sharpened :)

Favorite picture of my youngest daughter
from last weekend visit.

That corn looks amazing! I love fresh veggies in the summer. FYI I made my first ever homemade margherita pizza this week with fresh mozzarella and your fresh basil. It was AMAZING and everyone gave it rave reviews. :)

p.s. I love the hat picture, too.

So are you freezing the corn?

Tabor, this image of corn I am cutting off, cooking shortime in microwave, freeze and when serving finish cooking.
Some stays in husk, freeze, when ready to eat, wrap corn in damp paper towel and microwave, silks come right off.
Corn not the quality I like,
kernals to large but was given to me :)

Love your pictures today. Nothing like pictures of vegetables right out of the garden. I just checked my tomatoes and the cherry tomatoes are ripening. I like to pop them in my mouth as I work outside.
Have a nice weekend...Is it still warm there? We are expecting a much cooler week ahead.

I've been putting corn in the freezer this week. The wind blew the corn stalks over pretty bad yesterday when rain came through. We always like to plant purple hull peas after the corn is harvested. Purple hull peas no longer have the dark hulls that turned ones fingers purple; the hulls are more pink now. Why does everything have to be changed? For shipping purposes I suppose.

Very hot weather is here.

What with Celtfest, company, and child care, I have really fallen behind. The corn looks scrump. It's not good here yet. Or at least it wasn't about 10 days ago.

Been away from blogging and blog reading. Always a treat to catch up with you my dear.

Love your pesto plans. Pesto will carry you through the winter months.

Wish I had all those herbs. Growing season and gardening for me are unattainable.

On to other stuff, but love keeping up with yours.....
