Morning

Another very hot day is predicted
hopefully showers arrive to cool this earth.

I go outside
and the air smells like perfume.
My phlox have a wonderful scent
and I wonder what else it might be.

Sunflower in the garden
Zucchini bloom

Weeks ago
after finishing cantaloupe
I placed the seeds in the garden
and covered with soil
Will it produce
at this late date ?
Will miss seeing my young granddaughter's
this day.   Not comfortable traveling far on this very warm day.

It's muggy here this morning after a 1/4 inch rain yesterday afternoon. Not nearly as much as we needed! but every drop counts I suppose.

I stick close to home while we have big chickens; the farmer does the going for me.

I guess it depends on when the cool fall weather comes. But, I love doing what you did - it's fun to try to grow something like that.

Hi Ernestine,
We are experiencing a lot of hot weather too. Could be triple digits today...but then a storm with the temps dropping quite a bit. We are expecting an over night guest and will be going out for dinner. I'm finding that during this heat...I am fixing very simple fare for our meals.
Was interested in the seed planting. I didn't think that they would grow...that they needed to dry out. Very interesting. Be sure to tell us the outcome later on.
Have a nice weekend...glad to hear you are feeling better.

Hi dear, thanks so much for stopping by. Yes, shingles are so debilitating.

You're detoxing well and the garden is one of the best "detoxers" in the world (as are grandchildren).

Sending wishes for cool and sweet,

Sharon (love the recipe for the dip and will try doing this tonight)

I worry about traveling far in this heat, as much as I worry about traveling far in the intense cold. Would be not good conditions to have car break down in either one. Storms predicted for here tonight--scared of severe ones, but hoping. Praying the forecast is correct for tomorrow--78 degrees and low humidity. Maybe then, I can get out and work a bit!!!

charlotte, sallysmom, sharon and judy, :)
balisha, I have done this in years past and sometimes it bares a special cantaloup. thought you had to use dry seeds also...

Hot here too and so humid - one is reluctant to go outside, and the late afternoon storm has not cooled things one bit. We are looking forward to autumn.

hope it cools down soon. had the best sweet cantaloupe recently - we love melons. wish we had a warm and long enough summer to grow our own. a very short growing season here so we don't even bother with tomatoes anymore.

Your gardens are wonderful. Yellow is a favorite color of mine.
