My little ones are delighted with each birthday,
not grandma..
The oldest has a birthday next week.
School is out and they were in the country yesterday.
They make me smile.
I needed to smile since I have been in a lot of pain
lately from arthritis, also had a bad fall 5 days
ago.
Standing on one foot to wipe it off after being in yard,
knocked rocking chair and small table off of front
porch and landed hurting my hip, arm and neck.
A miracle I did not break something but am
just real sore.
Difficult to tell what is arthritis or pain from fall.
I know to pace myself, rest before I am tired,
not think of the past or the future
and just enjoy the moments as they unfold.
Today - I will practice what I know.
I will take pleasure in the fact that there
was a light shower last night.
One Woman will be in her garden as every plant
seems to sparkle with the rain drops,
and much weeding to be done.
May make some butternut squash this morning.
Sounds like my kind of day.....
My special little one it seems like yesterday you started playing soccer
and now you are winning trophies.
Early "Happy Birthday" wishes are going over the miles to your home.
SORRY....
Trying to do something on my blog
did not know what I was doing
and deleted all my favorite blogs.
Wonder if it is in a trash bag somewhere?

Please be careful and take care of yourself.

sallysmom, thank you - I try but seem to fall short of what I know to do...
So sorry. I also notice that I am not as stable on my feet as I used to be. I am working with this ankle to get it back up to normal but there are days it is stiff or aches a little or even swells. there must be exercises or activities to help us keep balance as we age. Falling is not an option! Happy Birthday...each one at our age is a precious jewel.
Hope you are feeling some better.....please, take care of yourself! don't know about the trash recovery....
Tai chi is a good way to practice and hone strength for balance.
Sometimes when adding or deleting entries in the blog roll, it happens that the entire list is accidentally deleted. Usually it is gone, unfortunately, and each entry must be re-entered, unless the template has been backed up; then that can be used to restore the lost list.
Sad but true.
Backing up the template before making changes to your blog, even little ones like adding to the blog roll, is a good idea.
Adding my voice to the chorus here of hope you are feeling better very soon. I know you want to play in your garden!
Beverly, thank you for visiting.
Elsa Louise, so good to hear from you. Yes, I have lost my blog roll and when I have time will start the list again.
AOL is down and when I go on internet so much I do not know.
Usually send my post to my children and this morning spent an hour trying to find out after I highlite and click share - how do I bring my address book up.
Guess I do well for all I do not know. Hope you and your mother are fine...
So sorry to read of your fall and suffering. Hope it subsides very soon! I too have heard that tai chi is great to regain balance. Must work on it some myself!
Keep cherishing and enjoying all the beautiful things in life.
oopss! we gotta stay upright! ;) from now on consider taking shoes OFF instead of wiping them when they are still on your feet. you can pick them up to clean them much easier than standing on one foot! at least this is my reasoning. we don't wear shoes inside that have been worn outside anyway. an indian husband (whose cultural experience does not include outside shoes being worn in the house) and off white carpet in areas that are not hardwood just makes this a more practical option. we wear inside shoes/slippers when we come inside and put our outside shoes in a shoe closet near the front door. funny that many PNW homes that are not Asian practice this as well, probably because of the long, wet winter here.
wish you had some biofreeze. i learned about it many years ago from my chiropractor in atlanta. our chiro out here also keeps it on hand as does my physical therapist, so we are NEVER without it. helps the pain from joint inflammation and from injury and i believe it helps reduce swelling as well. you can order it online if you can't find it at a healing source in nashville.
hope you feel better soon. hugssss.
So sorry to hear about your fall. It does seem that balance issues are very common with aging. The suggestion of Tai Chi is a good one.
Hope each day finds you better, and that the rain comes for your garden!
Pienosole, thank you...
Sky, familiar with biofreeze and have used in the past.
My family has never worn shoes in my home. Background of construction work and shoes and boots always left at the door.
I was wiping off shoes to bring inside to put in basket :)
Today feel almost normal - just some bruises...
Marcia, thank you for visiting.
My yoga helps with balance.
Just did something stupid in a hurry...
We often learn a lesson by doing something without thinking. We learn to never do that again. Sorry to hear that you fell and are hurting. Our sense of balance diminishes with age. I do yoga too, and I have a couple of Tai Chi tapes that my daughter gave me yrs. ago. I remember that Tai Chi is very helpful for balance. Maybe a blend of the two would be good.
Take care,
Balisha
Oh my, have I started it! Yoga of course is so good, too, but as I understand it, its claim to fame is helping with flexibility. Tai chi, because it has the practitioner do the movements so very slowly and hold the poses, seems to be useful in addressing balance.
At nearly 54, I am learning that being both flexible and balanced (physical and otherwise) look to be critical in achieving a comfortable life. As Balisha suggests, maybe a little of both, a blend of what works best for you, as time allows.
We all want to help because we love you, Ern.
Oh my! Sorry to hear about your fall! Accidents can happen so quickly; hoping you feel better tomorrow.
Mext time, sit down to dry off foot!!!???
Balisha, Charlotte and Judy,
thank you :)
Elsa Louise, again thank you for commenting. Might buy a tape on Tai Chi, have a good day and keep in touch...
