A Day In November

It seems like yesterday
that the fields were lush and green.
The trees filled with green and then colored leaves.
I believe
as we age that time seems to go by so quickly.
Now I see bare fields and trees
but still beautiful sunsets.
I plan on my time left on this earth
always to see the beauty of my surroundings in every season

The end of a cool day.
I wanted at lunch  to sit on the deck in the sun that
came out for such a short time and have my soup, sandwich and tea.
Stayed a few minutes
and had to come inside as it
seemed the dampness chilled me to the bone.

~~There are things you can't reach.
But you can reach out to them, all day long.
The wind, the bird flying away
the idea of God
and it can keep you as busy as anything else
and happier
I look morning to night
I never stop looking~~~

Mary Oliver

A day has ended
it went by so quickly
and I wonder
"what have I done?"

And does it really matter.....

Like your pictures--especially the one of the gravel lane and the bike leaning against the tree. It seems, when we are ill or sad, we'd like the days to fly by so we can get better sooner. How I wish we could slow down the good days.

I forget how different one November day can be from another until the month arrives each year. It is one of the months that we have the most beautiful skies at sunset.

Some people may laugh at this, but I try to write down what I do as the day progresses. It helps me see that I didn't just waste the whole day.

Judy, this gravel lane is what I travel as I head to the road?
Sharon, yes the sunsets I see are so beautiful.
Sallysmom, my list is always full of busyness. But that is me :)

Aw yes ~ time going much too quickly. I like to have lists of my chores for the day so, as I mark them off, I feel like I have accomplished something. Take care!

you are right where you need to be, you have done exactly what needed to be done.

everything has its own time.

Mary Oliver's poems and prose thrill me to my finger tips.

each season is a friend come to visit.

lovely photo sharing of your world and what you see.

I love this post! Your pictures are always beautiful. These are especially so! And, again, you've quoted Mary Oliver for me. Thank you so much!
