Doors Open

A cooler morning and doors open
and as I view my garden
it seems some plants are coming back to life

As I contemplate what to put on my waffle this early  morning it dawned on me a lot of fruit consumed in this cottage

A mango, pear, peach, apples, banana, grapes, lemons and notice in the bowl
an avocado sit on the counter.    In freezer frozen blueberries, strawberries, cherries and cranberry's,

Another day begins, yesterday very busy and an early morning service on car
that was needed.   Ran into a precious friend who has been so encouraging to me in
past years.
Her and now deceased father helped me with many real estate dealings in the past.

Kay was a gift to me yesterday morning.

Still feel the warmth of her hug and I  smile at all of her encouraging words towards me.

My mom was a firm believer in healthy eating when i was growing up. Sadly it didnt stick with me as I aged.

I too am enjoying the cooler weather and the lovely hour long rain we had this morning.
We always ate a lot of fruit and veggies.

I grew up learning fruit was expensive and we got only what was in season and at the leftovers from what mother was canning for the winter. I try to eat more fruit without feeling guilty. Funny how our childhood follows us.

Tabor, I grew up the same way,
now with health problems
trying to eat healthy
not much appetite
and anything that might taste good
I buy...

We had a small orchard so we were allowed to eat any windfalls and damaged apples. We were discouraged from eating the "perfect" ones as they were for the house fruitbowl. To this day I hunt out damaged and misshapened fruit as I know they'll taste as good and the shops will probably be unable to sell them otherwise. As Tabor so rightly says, our childhood follows us! I'm very glad you seem to be feeling a bit better Ernestine. xxx
