Too Soon

Yes, too soon for these flowers
but they are a gift yearly
from a friend who has a nursery
by her property.
Usually receive about Thanksgiving
but a lot going on in her life at this time
being home bound with a husband who is bedridden.
She picked them up early because she was
told that nursery would have none in another week.

Where to put them in this small cottage
a problem, but they went up on the loft
and when my 2 youngest daughter's with families
arrive for Thanksgiving dinner they can take their flower.

Early Christmas on the loft at Woodhaven

The green plants that I have had for years
came in from my screen porch and they always do well during the winter months
on the loft area.

I no longer put up a Christmas tree and just a few special holiday items are put out.
These flowers look so pretty
I think I will take my lunch up to the loft, eat
and look out the big window at the cold wind blowing...

Inside for several days and a lot accomplished that has been neglected
during the beautiful days I stayed outside in the garden.

A plus
because of strong winds
most of leaves have blown away.

Hard to believe that there will be a shortage of holiday flowers this early!

Tabor, this is a huge nursery and supplies to Lowes. I do know last year there were none after Thanksgiving. Did not want them this early but since she gives them to me I will find a place for them..

In one of your posts, I would so enjoy a drawing of the floor plan of your cottage. The loft so intrigues me!! Is there a bedroom up there? or just storage?

The flowers are so beautiful. I love red plants--makes me happy.

Writing from the Maritimes, we had quite a bit of snow here today. Beautiful picture of your plants and the statue next to them, is it Saint Francis of Assisi?

It's a little early for us to display a poinsettia, but we have certainly begun putting up Christmas decorations.

legmom, I drew the plan for this cottage 6 years ago and was built 5 years ago. One big room downstairs which has the kitchen at one end, my bedroom and bath at one end and then a screen porch and deck outside. Loft area for big family that visit and it has a bedroom, bath and small sitting room. I love this plan and would change nothing except have had thoughts of a few things - since I am always planning and thinking. Tell me about yourself as I see no information when I click on your name.
Marielle, where is Maritimes and yes that is my son's St Francis.
Laura, doing a little less and think of you often but do not
comment much...
Anvil Cloud, :)
