It isn't your job to make everyone
feel comfortable with your emotional process.
Nevertheless its up to you
to ask yourself the tough questions
so you can gain clarity about
the next chapter of your life.
~~Joseph Campbell~
I learned about Joseph Campbell from Cate at http://www.beyondthefieldsweknow.org/.
Mentioned this writer to my son
and he told me he had some of his books in his library upstairs in this cottage :)
Vegetable soup simmering with
roast from the freezer
leftover from my Beth's birthday dinner.
Will be good on this frigid day.
Rosemary resting on screen porch
instead of in
the blowing wind
on terrace...
Looks as though
the Christmas Cactus
will bloom in several weeks :)

You seem to have all your ducks in a row this fall. Keep safe and warm.
A good lesson to be learned from his writing.
Does your rosemary do well this way? I brought mine in the house but lost it last year. It never winters well in our climate.
Your vegetable soup looks tasty and will be a nice meal today. I love soups when it's cold out. Well, I love soup anytime really. My post this morning is about soup too.
Enjoy your Christmas cactus...they are so pretty.
Have a wonderful day,
Balisha
Tabor, :)
Balisha, I lost my 4 year old huge Rosemary this year. This is a new on and instead of planting in the ground put it in a pot.
Just liked the look of it on the porch and hope I can plant in ground when Spring arrives..
I'm a very big "fan" of Joseph Campbell, having discovered him through the Bill Moyers' interview series with him, which was particularly significant for me because it was shortly after I lost my mother. I have many favorite Bill Moyers' quotes, but probably my most favorite is this one:
"It is by going down into the abyss that we recover the treasures of life. Where you stumble, there lies your treasure."
This makes me want to watch that series again :-).
Meant to type, "I have many favorite JOSEPH CAMPBELL quotes..." (not Bill Moyers)!
Pienosole, this early morning
you sharing this quote has helped me greatly. Much going on at this time that I cannot share
and I am constantly praying and looking for wisdom of exactly what to do or to continue to stay silent. Thank you.
I have read a little of Joseph Campbell's writings. He is deep. His books are hard for me.
Several of his quotes are very good.
The veggies soup with beef looks so good. You are right it is perfect for a cold day.
Wishing you a great evening.
Here's my favorite Joseph Campbell's quote:
“When you get to be older, and the concerns of the day have all been attended to, and you turn to the inner life—well, if you don’t know where it is or what it is, you’ll be sorry.”
I got a Christmas Cactus on sale after Christmas last year. I isn't going to bloom. I used to have a huge one--always sat on the same high plant table and bloomed twice a year. It was about 2 feet across and had been my gramma's. Guess this cactus doesn't like it here. :-(
Marielle, I like that.
Judy, the big one I bought
2 years ago on sale and the small this one for 99cents. The main
thing is just water once a week
Overwatering can kill them.
Hope you are finding some answers this morning. Life just keeps going.. even when we are troubled.Miss your sharing here.
Hugs, Balisha
