It is beginning to snow
not much expected
but the beginning of a few very cold days
has arrived.
Yesterday made potato soup, cornbread and another apple upside down cake.
Corn bread in small cast iron skillet that was my grandmother's. Now pretty
good at making 1/2 recipe and it came out of skillet perfectly.
A lot of projects that I started and never finished will be going on today.
Continual problems with computer and Verizon has sent me a new Sim card
and representative will call this afternoon and hopefully it will be better.
A big part of my problem is living in a rural area and using a air card.
New book arrived that is by my chair
"The Art of Stillness"
adventures in going nowhere.
by Pico Iyer
Sounds like this one :)
A day in a cottage by the woods
continues....

Have a wonderful day!
Hope the computer issue gets easily solved. Enjoy your cozy and productive day inside :-).
Yummy. I am glad that you eat well, many people who cook for one, don't! I love the description of that book. If you like it let us know. Heavy rain on and off today, no snow.
It’s the time of year when we draw in and sitting by the fire, smelling the good smells from our cooking and nodding off over a good book is all I want.
Good morning, Ernestine; I hope you enjoy your cozy time today.
Rainy here tonight after a few days of snow. Love the Buddha on your deck and that apple cake looks absolutely delicious.
Buddha really doesn't seem to mind a bit of snow. I love your delicious looking pictures...now I am hungry for cake!
The Buddha is going to freeze his tummy!! I would probably have to drape a warm scarf around him or something. You do eat healthy and well for one living all alone. Let us know what the book is about and if you like it. Please.
Cornbread. Yum.
Preparing good cornbread is a art.
I love cornbread, love it!
Hoping your computer to be repaired and good to go for you.
We arrived from South Carolina to Macon, Georgia, late yesterday.
Very cold and windy. No snow. Going into the teens in the wee hours tomorrow morning.
I have made peace with winter and do enjoy the cold. That is easy to say as I do not work in the freezing snowy outsides.
However, i focus on the differences of winter from our other months. the bareness comes calling to our woods. the earthy browns and blonds of grasses and trees is compelling to me.
God bless you with good health, a clear sharp mind, and happiness enough for 5 people!
((hugs))
Thanks to all for commenting.
Sandy, I no longer like Winter
or rather my aging bones do not.
I am fine inside, looking out at the beauty and running in and out quickly. To think I was raised in Michigan and use to ski :)
