A Day In My Life....

A beautiful view
out of every window
this early morning.
and now time for
Callie, watches me
and time for breakfast.
On to Butternut Squash soup, pierced squash with an ice pick and baked
for an hour :)  Then something I was told about and wonder why I did
not think of it.   For years have made pineapple upside down cakes
today used sliced apples with a sprinkling of cinnamon and next
time which will probably be next week will add more apples
then the 2 suggested.
Burned all the brush stacked 3 foot high in burning pit
and a lot was done outside.
But did not tackle the big brush pile - need someone here with me...
Winter wheat planted and soon front field will look like a green lawn
A beautiful day has ended and this one is weary....

I love the idea of using apples on the cake! Sounds delicious and just may try it. Is the cake batter the same as when using pineapple?

Be careful in your work.

Your photos, inside and out, are wonderful! Loved looking through your windows at beautiful Woodhaven. Also good to see Callie looking quite happy and healthy. We love pineapple upside-down cakes; will remember to try apple.

We have to strike while the iron, or in this case, weather is nice. We are all cleaned up here in this area, perennials cut back, planters emptied and all stored in the shed as we have had a few hard frosts and we could get snow any time now.

Charlotte, yes just use apples with a little cinnamon instead of pineapple - so good.
Lorraine, Mary, :)
Judy, have hardly started here
and so much to do for one woman.

The pictures are like windows into your soul. (I've only started dropping in a few days ago - so it's wonderful to get a peek into your surroundings...) I will try the apple upside down cake one of these days. Sounds just right for this season.

Rebecca, thank you for your kind comment. Yes, my soul is here
in the place I healed 40 years ago
and finally 5 years ago could return and built a small cottage
by the woods. God is Good..

Great idea about apples in the cake! Thanks.

Callie looks so much larger than she used to look to me. Is she doing ok now? Sure hope so!

Sky, Callie is back to normal.
Might just be the picture as she is the same size. May be Winter coat :)
