Thought and Sunset Through My Japanese Cherry Tree

Be Fearless, Be Brave

There's a sacredness to every one's life. In order to relate to it, you have to build confidence.

Because of this need to build confidence, we speak of "warriorship." There's a tremendous amount of fear in people's lives. I think it's based on not wanting to reveal oneself. You're always protecting yourself. So the journey of meditation - one has to be brave. One must break out of the world which is comfort - oriented."

Some words read this early morning from Tricycle Daily Dharma

Revealing ourselves means facing the possibility of rejection. People crave acceptance.

Rejection is tough and can spawn fear. After a while, it becomes easier to reveal less. Such behavior, though, is hardly conducive to making friends, is it?

The world is an awfully lonely place when one has no friends. Thus we must remain open to a bit of discomfort.

A beautiful image, your header of the cherry blossoms. Like a pink cloud. Thank you for sharing.

Elsa Louise, your words are so wise. Revealing oneself does become easier with age. I always look forward to your comments.....

The post and photo reminds me of one of my favourite quotes from Anais Nin:

"And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom."

I'm beginning to learn that the hardest days bring the most profound lessons.
