Mail

Mail received in the last hours

A Christmas card from son in Thailand

A picture of my grandson
over the ocean and soon will return home

From daughter in warm California
Safe travel wishes home
Go out this very day

These are the simple things that
Keep mom and grandma smiling

In her world

At the edge of the cold woods

It is so enjoyable to get news from family and friends. When I worked I used to get many Christmas cards but now being retired and with little family I barely receive about 8 or so, but I treasure each one.

Oh, and isn't it the "truth" just the simple things we love from our "grands":)

Vagabond and Shannon, thanks for visiting.
Tabor, my personal world is so small - here at the woods. But children and grandchildren seem to lead exciting lives. Guess that is way it is supposed to be for the ancient :) Know it is cold where you are.

Is there anything better than the mail in December? I recently shared with a friend that I have every Christmas photo she has sent over the years, from the time her sons were small. Each year I dedicate a page or two in the family photo album to photos that arrive in December. I wouldn't trade them for anything:)

Sharon and Beverly - your welcome comment found this cold morning.
Can't wait until day break to see if it looks like a winter wonderland outside. Stay warm and have a good day.
