Turkeys that close to you!! Fantastic! We rarely see them anymore. We think coyotes and wild hogs probably rob the turkeys' eggs from their nests on the ground.
It's wonderful to see you posting more often, which means you're feeling better.

That big male turkey strutting around is amazing.

One day a few weeks ago, I opened my front door to see a beautiful sunset. When my eyes wandered downward there was a female turkey doing her funny turkey walk crossing our street coming into our front yard. I had just finished drinking 3 liters of colonoscopy prep stuff and for a moment I honestly thought I might have been hallucinating, but quickly realized what I was seeing was real. We live in a subdivision where the houses are pretty close together. I've lived in this house over 40 years and that is the first turkey I have ever seen in this area.

Now every time I look out my front door I hope to see another turkey, but that hasn't happened yet.

How delightful! I vividly recall the first time I saw wild turkeys when we lived in Arizona.
