Words in the Mail

Words received from over the ocean
in the mail.
Always so welcome...

"I cannot change the world...
but I can watch.  If I am wise
I will just watch without
getting upset about anybody or anything.
Who am I to carry the world on my shoulders?"

Sayadaw U Jotika   "Snow in the Summer"

My heart repeats
 a silent "thank you."
These words seemed to be
just what his mama needed
now she needs to remember...

These words track closely to much of the wisdom I am reading in The Duty of Delight: The Diaries of Dorothy Day. Thank you for sharing them.

I still think I can argue or talk and help change the world. Maybe someday I will step back and e peaceful in spirit as I age. Right now I still feel like a warrior.

Wise words indeed!

It is hard to adopt so peaceful an attitude of acceptance.

Aisling, so true
my special girl....
Tabor, hopefully the warrior feeling leaves soon, especially with all that is going
on in the world.
Barb, Rebecca
and
Pienosole
thank you so much for visiting...

I am so desperately trying to step back and stay where my hands are, learning from others, from you, from poetry. I am much happier when I do so. Too much grief overwhelms me at times.
